UAB up 6-0 on OSU after a blocked punt return for a TD (missed PAT)
Is awesome. What a great passer! Go Blazers!
If OSU doesn't get that D figured out this year Michigan is going to put a lot of points up on them. They have a lot of time though
They only practice tackling once a week. Sounds like a Rich Rod tactic.
Tied 7-7 with Iowa
hahaha, just turned on the game and they are kicking the extra point. epic
Why cant we get the live chat thing going for the rest of the games and a seperate one for the Michigan game?
Is it just me or does UAB look like they have a lot of confidence so far.
Yep, if UAB can shut this drive down and get some points before half, Im hitting the panic button for ohio.
CMU recovers a fumble deep in Iowa territory.
Or performing up to par?
Even with Wisconsin scoring that touchdown it took 3 tries from the 1 and Ball looks like he may not survive the first half.
Love that new spread punt formation. Worked well.
guy next to me was regretting he hadn't flown out to Vegas to lay $500 on the 50:1 on Ohio not covering the spread (wearing his osu jersey, getting ready for his osu watching party, etc etc). This town will turn on Urban so quickly if he starts losing....
They've got some horses if they can get 'em the ball in space.
fumbled for the first time ever and is now out of the game. Wisconsin looks like genuine ass.
Ball should have gone to the draft.
Ohio is an awful tackling team, I haven't seen a play without a missed tackle.
is TACOPANTS too!
Didn't Vrabel get a secondary infraction for chewing on the sideline during a game? Someone alert the NCAA. He's chewing right now.
The reputation is already tarnished enough. Screw OSU. We should only worry about Michigan.
Screw the bucks.
Yes. We always want OSU to lose. We are recruiting out of their state. It is no coincidence that our best recruiting class in a decade is coming fresh off a terrible Ohio State year. The worse they are, the better it is for us.
As far as the rest of the big ten, we probably want them to win. Although you can root against sparty too
It will be interesting to see how healthy Miller is come The Game.
Diggs just scored for Maryland.. 14-7 WV
I like how every comment focuses on the (entertaining, heartening) struggles of Ohio.
3rd And goal at the 1/2 yard line - Wisconsin didn't execute that fumble correctly the first time...and they accidentally score. 9-6 Badgers.
Ohio will most likely win this game but it is enjoyable to watch how god awful they look so far.
another first down across mid field. OSU tackling is bad, but seriously UAB has them on their heels. LOVE it.
The MSU-OSU game coming up is going to bring trench warfare to the 21st century. OSU's playcall sheet has about ten scripted plays to start the game, and then Urban just says "meh" to Braxton Miller and he goes and makes some shit up.
Keep running them until OSU can stop 'em!
UAB gaining first downs AT WILL!
Of course UAB switched QBs when they're moving the ball well. Sigh.
again. QB has decent protection though.
A visit to the Bucknuts game day thread might be worth a minute of my time.
3 straight bubble screens by UAB! I love it!
OSU's defense is bad. They can't tackle, especially in open space.
Good luck with Denard.
Like to hear themselves blow whistles. Maybe, both teams are just that bad.
One thing that is keeping the Wisconsin-UTEP game close right now is that Joel Stave and Nick Lamaison are more or less the same quarterback, so this game might be decided by sacks and underthrown passes.
OSU will pull this out in the second half but they are not so good at football today.
UAB has the athletes to hang with Ohio, and a few breaks along the way could spell DOOM for the bucks. A huge underdog allowed to stay in the game is dangerous.
17-14 cmu over Iowa. I swear to god if we don't beat Iowa this year...
I just said the same exact thing to my buddy.
they're actually making radcliff look decent.
Lloyd Brady is on the Patriots and working on a chemistry test?? whaaa -
And beat them going away.
Braxton Miller is a superb athlete, but seems to start slow all the time. I don't think he sees the game like a real QB does.
Hey dude. Don't rain on our parade with that garbage.
Four hours later. OSU ends up owning the game's only touchdowns. A 2-td margin at the end. Barely allows UAB to run a play in the red zone. 5 fg's of substantial length by a good UAB kicker. Braxton's athleticism carries the day; Braxton's ability to see the game as a big-time QB in doubt.
Anything I missed?
Fans can be fans; but shouldn't Michigan fans be particularly smart fans?
The real jewel is that they may also lose to a team from Alabama.
so they can work on the rest of their offense.
I wonder how long that lasts?
It happens (or my theory was wrong)
cue==marking or signal
uab must have a great defense.
Devin Smith sighting. Drink!
Apparently, Santa Claus is a Buckeye fan, given that last camera shot of the crowd. I don't know how to break that one to the kids.
He apologized for not delivering me a Michigan victory over Ohio for a couple of years "but so many more [Ohio] fans asked for the win." Pretty good trolling if you ask me.
Jim Tressel told me my Big House hat at least had the right colors last week...
Will be able to right the ship with this new QB - now 16-6 over UTEP.
I am torn between my general dislike of Bielema and the hope that somebody can beat on the MSU and OSUs of the world from the Leaders.
This OSU team is the exact opposite of Tressel's standard team. They just aren't fundamentally sound. The don't really do anything well except have Braxton Miller be awesome.
sounds like us in 2010
Shazier down, looks hurt, and bad. Hopefully it's just a cramp
That did not look good. Won't be surprised if Shazier is out for the year
No one was playing with his knee while he was on the ground. He might have gotten really lucky. That hit looked really bad.
Blake Countess walked off the field with a torn ACL.
The hit on shazier was directly over his knee while his foot was pinned down.
I definitely wouldn't be surprised if he's got something seriously wrong with him, but the odds certainly went down when he stood up. They even showed him sitting on the bench rather than being examined.
Thankfully, for him, he's back in the game.
Ouch! Sabine takes friendly fire to his knee.
Shakier. Not Sabino. My mistake.
Ferentz has an 0-2 record against Western. Looks like his struggles are continuing against Central. The Chips have the 82nd ranked offense in the nation and they're having no problem with Iowa's defense.
When Iowa comes to the big house, we better beat the shit out of those guys.
It's a slightly better clone defensively of 2010 Michigan's team.
Why does it look like Maryland has better athletes than 80% of the B1G?
CMU scores a field goal. Goes up 20-14 on Iowa.
QB should have handed off on 2nd down...RB had a serious hole there.
Napa know how commercial. Worst ever?
dropped a pin in the 'shoe.
UAB gets a 54-yard field goal. 12-7 UAB.
Rather than rest, of course, they hand him a tee on the sideline and tell Long to do his other job.
If the Bucks lose this game, would that equal The Horror?
Not even close
App St might beat this UAB team, not sure.
UAB is 1-a. More importantly I think Ohio already knew they sucked. The horror was so horrorish because we were one of the leading contenders for the MNC
OSU isn't ranked as high as we were.
And UAB beat Alabama's SEC title team in 1999, the same one Tom Brady beat in the Orange Bowl. They have pulled off upsets before.
Thanks, not up to speed on the divisions and how thier set up. If they lose, its still good ridicule ammo. Never the less, its starting to look like ohio is gonna pull this one off.
If the missed xp winds up being a difference maker this game I'm gonna be so so sad.
I will say that the vibe around town was that the good new for OSU was they'd return their entire defense this year. Turns out that that's also the bad news for them.
Unfortunately for them, they also returned Luke Fickell
blocked. Fine line maybe, but still.
He had the LBs last year and they were awful. This year he's on DL and we will see.
Nick Lamaison threw a great short pass to Wisconsin's defensive end for what looked like a TD, but this will be called incomplete upon review, I think.
...and it is incomplete. UTEP's punter hasn't had to stay warm in the 2nd quarter as he is getting decent reps in as it is.
Ground can't cause a fumble. Bs
Edit: Never,ind. he fumbled
I thinks the party may be over. OSU finally woke up.
Boren and his whole family are still the scum of the earth.
I think that one thing that Nathan Jeffrey needs to consider is that, if you're going to run ten to fifteen yards in the wrong direction, you may want to consider going for the safety and starting over on your next possession.
...but of course, Wisconsin gets called for roughing the kicker and UTEP gets a chance to rush in the right direction with about a minute left in the half.
Chips 23 - Iowa 14
Let that ball go out of bounds, come on man
CMU kicks another field goal. Up 23-14 on Iowa.
I'm waiting for the game that helmet rule causes a riot
Will be on the wrong end of that rule someday? A big 3rd down play against Little Brother, where on 2nd down Gholston or Marcus Rush knocked Denard's helmet off?
That 10-second runoff rule is dumb. A guy's helmet coming off has nothing to do with the clock.
Points are irrelevant. The real question is: clandestine gray vs. ghost white, which uni is worse?
I'm going to go with clandestine gray, but all whites do not look good on giant linemen.
UAB with the onside kick recover to start the half
Score at the half: Florida-17, Kentucky-1
Morgan Newton..... 3 ints
Team..... 2 ints
Does ESPN not know that Excel exists or something? You don't have to enter EVERY value in the table.
EDIT: -56 yards passing? Is this real life? Demarcus Sweat also has one phantom kickoff return, because apparently Kentucky only has one return as a team...
Or is ESPN having a seizure
the UAB punter is awful.
27 yard punt and that's with a couple yard roll. Is there really no one else on the team who can punt father?
That was a nicely timed run blitz for UAB
UTEP has had a few first downs which have instead been called back for penalties against their offense. The Miner offensive line really should stop giving Lamaison false hope that his passes are effective and will stand.
UAB has been able to get chunks of yards, just can't seem to find the endzone yet
Chop block on a picked up 3rd and 1. Stupid penalty to take
We'll see a lot of those this year. That's 15 yards of butthurt, every time.
Is there a rule change on chop blocks?
Linemen must be within seven yards of the snapper to block low, while backs in the backfield are allowed to do so within the tackle box. All other low blocks are prohibited. So you won't see a receiver taking out a cornerback's knees or linemen going downfield and going low on a run block.
Although in these cases it may not apply, I think the refs may be hyper-sensitive and thus, calling the penalty with moe frequency early in the season.
Thanks. I can see why there have been more of these penalties called this year.
Man, the buckeye just look terrible. They keep winning, but they look so unconvincing squeezing out wins at home against cupcakes. UAB was 3-9 last year but Ohio's defense has given up over 200 yards and 3 scoring drives to them in the first half alone.
Ohio has made a habit of squeezing out wins against cupcakes for as long as I can remember. They keep it just close enough to make me excited about them losing and then sneak it out. Assholes.
I actually dont mind the Terps uni's......that whole diggs thing however is a whole different story.
Also I just want to join in on the big ten sucks meme. Just a terrible conference this year no way to defend it.
UTEP scores a TD to close its deficit to 23-16. With Montee Ball out, this could be dicey for UW.
Seriously guys. STOP DIVING AT DEFENSIVE LINEMENS' KNEES!
How many freaking chop blocks have there been in the last 2 weeks of Ohio state games
It's now 23-16 Badgers after UTEP drives 75 yards for a TD. It did get noticably more quiescent in Camp Randall, almost as if the Badger faithful realize that a lot could happen in the last 20 minutes of regulation play. Sure, the Badgers may win, but they won't cover the 18 points with this offense.
Bielema is now feeling the effects of when those under the radar kids dont pan out....Wiscy, Sparty, Iowa should all be use to this. Only two programs in this conference have the ability to recruit at high levels and just reload.
Urb's sec defense he has brought to Columbus is impressive.
Amazing what happens when Urban cant lean on Mattison and Charlie Strong to save his D. If Fickell and Withers are his answer then he better get ready to win some shootouts.
Missed tackles against UAB are predictive of another big game for Denard this year. I'm a little less worried about that game. Long season to go obviously.
The positive of the long way to go thing is that Ohio seems to be getting worse on defense each game as we get better on offense.
Wow, Ohio looks really GREAT.
On 11W's LiveBlog it has been pretty amusing. Especially the comments about getting out coached the last two weeks by numerous posters. What?!?! I thought that wasn't possible!
Urban must not have the schematic advantage.
jeez Radcliff......way to be taken out by the hash on the field.
Radcliff eating it there wasn't surprising at all
"I'm not scared... This whole season is full of "practice games". If Meyer wanted a 40+ point win, he could have gotten it. The offense is still experimenting a working out kinks, and the D still hasn't given up a TD..."
Exactly guys. Urban Meyer doesn't want to win! If he wanted, he could win by 40 any day of the week! This is all by design! It's that SEC style of play that will put OSU over the top!
Mild TWIS but pretty damn amusing nonetheless
Wisconsin misses a FG. UTEP now has the ball with a chance to tie.
FG to cut it to 6. 21 - 15
Good god.. UTEP and UAB both look to have momentum right now.
Russell's FG is wide Camp Randall, and UTEP is still down by only 7 to start the 4th quarter. It would be nice to see this one tied for at least the majority of this quarter just to see if Bielema will, in fact, blame Canada.
Gotta say, thought Ohio would be blowing out UAB after the half, but still a one possession game.
Nice playcall on 3rd and 10 osu...qb draw.
All I know....after this game in badgerland someone is getting fired....Canada better be looking over his shoulder.
LOL. Late hit on OSU. Wow, they are just letting UAB hang around.
Unsportsmanlike penalty on OSU on a 3rd down for UAB. Hahahaha
Lol taunting a player on UAB. Good job Ohio.
"Yeah that's right, UAB bitch. Incomplete bitch."
Two personal fouls on the same player? Eject him.
I guarantee Bryant seriously hurts a player or himself by the end of the year. Total psycho.
Ohio is always lucky as hell in these games. UAB's kicker misses after making 12 in a row.
Utep is at the Wisconsin 30.
Yeesh. Ohio state is lucky they played 4 shitty teams in the non conference
Sheesh, this is bad football.
The Big Ten has been down for several years now but just 4 weeks into this season, the conference looks about as bad as I've ever seen it.
Very Big East-like this year. Horrible losses, close games, flubbing on the national stage
even if we lose today, I still feel great about our chances of making the rose bowl
2nd half; 2-5 for 20 yds.
Absolute meltdown over on 11warriors
...tsio drops like a rock in the polls.
So....I take it Dunn is down on the depth chart again? Man....i give the kid credit that takes a lot of love to commit to an offense that will do nothing for you.
I can see Dunn saying this.
But...but...but, coach told me that I will fit in his offense.
Good thing his cousin is smarter.
Iowa is turning it around. They're now up 24-23 and driving in CMU territory.
Announcers just gave a shoutout to AIRBHG.
and said he that weisman has not been affected...yet
The amazing thing is, no matter how many injuries they have to their tailbacks, they always seem to have another guy able to fill in. Weisman has over 200 yards today.
What the did not realize is that, much like Voldemort, it is unlucky even to speak the name in Iowa City.
just said AIRBHG on tv, awesome!
Kind of dissappointing because I was hoping someone would be humiliated
OSU 29-15 ~5:00 to go
Iowa 31-23 ~2:00 to go
Scratch that. Wisconsin has 1st and 10 at the UTEP 12 w 4:00 to go. Up 23-19
The Badgers just scored as well, but in keeping with their theme for the year, they did it slower and with more trouble than everyone else.
After watching all four of Ohio's nonconference games, I can't help but think they'd be 1-3 if they had played Michigan's nonconference schedule. They don't tackle well enough to have beatedn Air Force, they would have been hammered by Alabama (worse than Michigan was) and they would lose by multiple touchdowns to Notre Dame. Miller looks better but still isn't a great passer and the defense and everybody else on the offense look mediocre at best. They'd better hope Urbz is the miracle worker they think he is or else it is going to be a loooong B1G season for them - even in that terrible division.
I wonder if what we're seeing is the fact that Meyer has lost something in the coaching department, either in adapting his system to current talent level, losing his intensity after his "retirement," or both (and something else included).
Wisconsin is the worst 3-1 team ever.
Central is inside the Iowa 15 down 31-23 with 50 seconds left.
Wow how bad is Iowa.
How is Iowa struggling with CMU? OSU is finally pulling away from UAB.
TD Central 31-29 awaiting the 2 Pt conversion
TD CMU. 31-29. Going for 2 right now.
CMU two point no good.
The BTN should really offer us bonus coverage of the Iowa game. People outside Ohio don't care about the final 3 minutes of their game.
Iowa will hang on to win by 2
Those Iowa fans are way too happy about holding on to beat CMU by 2 points. I understand the relief, but then you should be taking a deep breath, not yelling in a camera looking like you just won the B1G. Come on Iowa - you're better than that.
Similar sentiments watching OSU players celebrate after finally buckling down their game vs UAB late in the 4th qtr.
Those Iowa fans are way too happy about holding on to beat CMU by 2 points.
Umm... They lost
Damn you, Angry Central Michigan Onside Kick Hating God!
Wow Iowa sucks...CMU gets the onside.
I think the element of surprise played a huge part.
Glory to you, Benevolent Central Michigan Onside Kick Loving God!
Why the hell did that Iowa player get out of the way instead of going after the ball?
It wasn't as bad as their mugging of Roundtree but Iowa got away with a non PI call again on CMU's 2 point try.
They showed the 2 kicker look on the onside kick 4 times because it took so long to get it done...and Iowa still wasn't ready to recover. This is embarassing.
Wow. Complete meltdown for Iowa.
what happened i thought IOWA got the onside kick??
On central let them rekick
CMU has to score a TD. The wind is too hard for a FG.
Really only need like 12 yards.
Iowa is awful
Not real smart there
Wow. Sideline pass or TD pass attempt?
No chance in hell he makes this
Haha, you guys just don't believe.
Iowa has some ridiculous luck when it comes to small schools trying to kick game winning field goals at Kinnick.
Fake FG for a TD.
Swirling wind plus a 47 yard FG. Tough kick.
CMU WINS! 47-yarder
CMU wins...another B1G facepalm moment...
SHIT JUST GOT REAL YO.
Holy hell, he made it.
Way to go, Iowa!
OMG LOL IOWA
Holy smokes. Wouldve been good from 57...
My eyes are broken.
Holy Hawkeye, what a kick. B1G is just the worst...
At what point is the B1G stripped of a BCS automatic bid?
wow.. nice kick with that wind
Wasn't he kicking with the wind?
Squib it, for the love of AIRBHG!
Guys...I think Michigan is gonna beat Iowa this year. Real talk.
Seriously, if we can't beat Iowa this year, on Senior Day no less, I will throw my tv out of my 24th floor apt.
Listen to the boos!
Cue Kirk Ferentz hot seat?
Wow the boo-urnses are loud down there.
Wow. That is all.
What is wrong with our conference?
Well Sparty feels a ton better about their win over CMU now.
Dan Enos will never lose that job now even though he is terrible at CMU
Weisman for Heisman!
Watch the B1G sweep all their bowl games this year after this absymal non-conference slate. That is if any team can make it to a bowl. Yikes.
Those MAC teams'll get ya!
Fire up chips!!!
Nice sportsmanship by Iowa players just running to the locker room. I know they just lost a game they can't believe they lost but when the underdog loses, they always seem to hang around and shake hands with the winners.
What exactly should Iowa do as CMU players are jumping into one big manpile at the 5 yard line??
Does anyone know where I can find a 2,000 mi. cable so I can set a tv dish up in PAC 12 country? I mean, I enjoy high school football as much as the next guy, but I don't need it broadcast to me all day every Saturday.
Did BTN have the Western Michigan logo up for a second in that Sparty game preview? They're playing Eastern, no?
Ga Tech returner just safetied himself on a kickoff!!!
this is starting out well for sparty...
But I do not think the Chips are one of the top MAC programs. Hawkeyes are hurtin'
Chips will be a cellar dweller in the MAC as long as Enos is there
