8-Wins Posbang

Submitted by YoungGeezy on

It was not pretty. At times it was downright painful. But we got the win against a team who's offense did what NO ONE has done to our D this year and has been in it with tough opponents all season.

We might not control our own destiny, but Harbaugh has instilled a fire and drive to win and compete that this team has lacked for a very long time. We've got 8 wins (and 3 on the road, which has been difficult for us to do since Carr retired) and we're still in a position to compete for a B1G Championship. This team is on the right track and I'm grateful where the program is headed.

Now let's beat Penn State.

That isn't how I expected Michigan to win, but I'll take it. Indiana=chaos so you never know what you'll get. Michigan escaped and that's something I can live with.

I'm conflicted.  On one hand we have, by far, the worst performance of the Jim Harbaugh era.  On the other a win and Jake MF Rudock.

What the hell... let's bang.  8-2.

and 5 conference wins are good as well.

PSU is the bonus game. Win that and it's nost just solid but a really good 1st year regardless of what happens vs OSU.

Michigan overcame adversity on the road.

Injury plagued the D-Line with Mone (we can only guess at how imporant he was) and Glasgow (holy shit is he our best defensive player, even ahead of Lewis?!).

Our strength was defense, and our offense was meh...average?

Rudock came out and our offense overcame! our defensive deficiences. No one would have guessed that.

Winning teams find ways to win. We poke fun at MSU an OSU, but winning teams find ways to win.

This isn't some stupid post about how good MSU and OSU are, but rather, it's starting to look like Michigan is back in the same spotlight.

Did Michigan win how they should? Nope. Did the better team win? Yes. Move on to next week.

Go Blue!

I predicted 8 wins before the season. I am ecstatic that we will likely exceed this predictuon, and that the O finally appears to be clicking.

i went and did barn chores with the twins there to the left of this post.  took our time about it too, getting the animals in, gathering eggs, etc.   was still in the garage puttering when i heard the rest of the family shout with joy.  then i knew it was safe....

I can't judge. We turned it off at the end of the third because my 10-year-old is still learning how to deal with losses. He was already getting frustrated, and I didn't want him to melt down like he did after MSU. Fortunately he was tired tonight so he fell asleep just in time for me to watch OT!

Someone mentioned it above, but it should absolutely be highlighted - this Michigan team did not quit, they kept at it no matter how ugly it managed to get, and that might be one of the biggest overall positives compared to last year in particular. We can talk about how this was a.....not good performance from the defense, for example, but the team's ability to put it together when it mattered should not be overlooked.

... they never quit in that game either, even after the deflating pick 6.  And it was Harbaugh who set the tone.  He never freaked out on a player.  Refs yes. Players no (at least not that I've seen).

I did not expect to see this kind of game out of Rudock, but Harbaugh's patience with him from the get-go is what gives him the confidence to keep plugging and put the team on his shoulders this game.

Michigan has already won three more games than they did last year, and they've got at least three left to play. It hurts to lose Glasgow, but overall there is no denying that the program is rocketing upward fast.

This is it.  I feel like I've gone into this season with a crazy zen knowing that what ever happens, it doesn't really matter in the big picture.  HARBAUGH is going to create something that we have never seen as Michgan fans and it's going to be incredible. The bonus is, great things are all ready happening.

but I'm struggling to get excited about today's turd laying.  All the damn false starts and offsides, Howard running free, holy fuck that was a joke.

I had to DVR the game... Went "dark" for the afternoon. I fast forwarded through the game in disbelief. The first love play I saw was Butt for the touchdown... BANG BANG! The defense looked even worse in fast forward than it did when I got to watch it live.

I tacked on 3 hours.  Had to leave at halftime for a concert, and had this strange OT premonition.

I got back home at 1 am, was successful at radio silence, and thought to myself "maybe I should go to bed and watch the game in the morning".   Nope.   I finished watching at 2:15 am after efficiently fast forwarding through commercials and downtime.   I love the DVR.
