#8 Michigan Hockey vs. #14 Wisconsin - Open Thread

Submitted by gwkrlghl on

Ok, I'll make the open thread tonight because Center Ice has not. He must have Friday night plans or something.

#8 Michigan takes on #14 Wisconsin in Madison. Michigan limps in from a very forgettable GLI while Wisconsin comes in having won 7 of their last 8. Big plus side: Andrew Copp is back. The team will look like they care again.

Game is on BTN.

Go team win

The BTN just said roughly "Meeting for the first time as conference opponents since 1981"

That's the first time I've heard anyone on TV mention the old Big Ten league

Softie from Nagelvoort

That's disappointing. Michigan was really carrying play and had the Kohl Center quiet. Now the crowd seems to be in it and Wisconsin has the momentum

Andrew Copp just made some nasty moves to get a nice chance on net. No dice though. I didn't even know Copp had that in his repertoire, he looked like PDG for a sec

WIsconsin just wrapped it around and threw it in front and it went off a skate and in

BS Wisconsin goals 2
Michigan 0

Not our night apparently. We're still totally carrying play and yet we're down 2-0. Nagelvoort never stood a chance there

The second UW goal was like some if the goals ! Was scoring in October to win The close games. Could be an ugly stretch here for M hockey I see BooNieves is not playing tonight. Sick, injured or finally a healthy scratch for scoring 1 goal in first half of season.

What are the chances they come back? I don't watch a lot of hockey, but I know it's hard to score. I assume they should be able to come back, I'm just not sure if that's realistic.

The difference tonight is that we're skating really hard and we look like the team that should be up 2-0. This isn't a "Im Bored" 2-0 like we had against MSU a few weeks ago, we should be winning.

Statisically it might look grim, but I think it's probably 50/50 we come back to win if the game stays this way
