tonight before the basketball game at 6pm on the BIG network is Big Ten Elite which will feature the 1997 National Championship football team. GO BLUE!!
that's unfortunate, but at least the interest is there on both sides
I've been wondering if there would be a show for the 1997 team. I've seen Ohio's 2002, Wisconsin's 1993 and Nebraska's 1995 team but I was hoping they would create one for Michigan's 1997 team.
Thanks for the heads up!
I think the very first one was 1997. I've seen it like 5 times
...since Nebraska probably thinks they should get a 1997 football special on the network, too.
EDIT: That's not MY position, mind you...but ever since the Huskers were added to the conference it's something I haven't been able to detatch whenever I think about that school.
Maybe a trophy needs to be created whenever the two schools met in football...a big, brass-cast number "97" goes to the winner and the loser's fanbase forfeits any claim to the 1997 MNC until their team wins again.
So fucking awesome!
Being called the "epitome of cool" by Charles Woodson must be mindblowing (Brian Griese)
Glen Steele was an animal.
"After an Ohio State three and out, the Buckeyes went into punt formation. Charles Woodson stood downfield, awaiting immortality."
I was pretty young in 97', albeit I remember much of this championship team (i.e. Nebraska won AP by, what, two votes?), but will someone enlighten me in regards to the Heisman race that year? Was Peyton considered to be "more deserving" at the time?
You spelled "coaches poll" wrong.
Nebraska was #1 in the coaches poll simply due to Phil Fulmer voting Mich 4th. How classy
What a tool.
is still my all-time Michigan Stadium memory. One heck of game and such a nerver racking one with everything that was at stake.
The celebration at the end was just awesome.
