6 U-M Teams Receive NCAA Honors
Today, the NCAA released its 2009-10 Academic Performance Program Public Recognition Awards for Division I list and recognized six U-M teams.
- The award highlights teams that demonstrate a commitment to academic progress and retention of student-athletes and are among the top 10% of their sports in the most recent multi-year APR report.
- Michigan teams recognized include: men's golf, men's swimming and diving, men's tennis, women's basketball, women's gymnastics and women's tennis
- Michigan's six teams were second among Big Ten schools. Northwestern had 10 teams recognized.
Congratulations to all the student-athletes and their coaches for these awards.

Evanston, Ill (AP): Regents of Northwestern University, to celebrate more than half their teams winning NCAA Academic Performance Program awards, have commissioned new lyrics to its 97-year-old fight song. Proposed lyrics read:
