In all our understandable coach obsession, I think this week's Bill Simmons article was passed up, and it's his usual fun featuring the rivalry between Peyton Manning and our own Tom Brady. As a Manning vs. Brady debate is always fun, and he breaks down the things that make it a good rivalry, it's worth discussion, and worth a read at the least if you missed it.
Two things that stood out, as a tease-
Winning Percentage of QB's with at least 100 victories:
Brady: .776 (125-36)
Montana: .711 (133-54)
Bradshaw: .684 (121-56)
Manning: .664 (150-76)
Unitas: .653 (124-66)
Young: .650 (102-55)
Elway: .645 (162-89)
Starr: .644 (105-58)< br> Favre: .618 (199-123)
Marino: .601 (155-103)
And an old story most of you already know, but I love it:
Brady's favorite story happened when he was playing at Michigan: Someone asked equipment manager John Falk which of his championship rings was his favorite -- between Big Ten titles and national titles, Falk had something like 14 at that point -- and Falk quickly responded, "The next one." Brady loved that. He steals it whenever someone asks him, "What was your favorite Super Bowl?"
