Cue the "so you're telling me there's a chance!" photos/.gifs. Great news to get him on campus.

Don't want to reveal too much because I respect the rules despite my ambivalence toward the no paywalled info rule, but it sounds like Hoke owes Peppers a non-violation training table dinner when he gets to AA.
There's no such rule.
Agreed. You can't copy and paste vast swaths of a pay walled article, but you can give enough info to give people the main idea, then link to said article.
Knight's or Real Seafood...Hoke seems like a Knight's guy to me!
Knights all the way. Real Seafood Co. is overrated.
I'm thinking he's more of a Chop House guy myself...
Speaking from a legal perspective, the rule is nonexistent bullshit. Hot news is good while it's hot, and you can't copyright it. The people pay for the right to hear it first. The value is in that short time after the news breaks. In the modern age, this value doesn't last that long.
From an unwritten rule, respect and mgoblog preference rule, it makes sense. But they can't punish you for it. This blog can ban you, but I mean the pay sites can't do anything but ban you.
Kevin Holt!
Jabrill told him to try to get up here. There's a 7-on-7 in Cleveland Fournette is going to and he's going to try to come up to Michigan while he's there. We can all thank Jabrill (and pretty much only Jabrill) for that
This sounds pretty speculative at this point, right?
Ummm...I won't spoil it but he said he's going to come up and check it out.
It's fuckin on now
...that is all...
That makes for a pantless weekend.
If you get lucky at the bar. Never when it involves 17 year old kids.
why did people neg this? come on now, this is tremendous news! at the very least, it's worth an offseason pants optional weekend? maybe?
All weekends are pants optional weekends, in my house at least. We're not savages.
Weekends? Telecommuting was invented so that people never had to put pants on.
Not going to get my hopes up. Until proven otherwise, he's an Alabama or LSU lock.
But get him on campus and I suppose anything can happen.
My view as well. He is an LSU guy until proven otherwise. That said, anytime a kid gets to visit AA and have Hoke point at him, I think we have some chance.
The Commissioner doing work!
It really is **all** Peppers doing work here. The coaches were recruiting Fournette early in the process, but pretty much gave up a month or two before Peppers' commitment. Then Peppers dropped, immediately began hitting up Fournette (along with a number of other tippy-top guys) on twitter, and the first "Fournette wants to visit Michigan" stories started popping up not long after that.
Awesome if he comes on campus. Would be surprised if he joined UM just because it feels a bit late in the process, but who knows.
Yeah only seven months till NSD haha.
If we get Fournette I expect to see the Wishbone.
Seriously, though, seriously. Seriously. DG taking snaps with Fournette, Green, and Norfleet in the backfield. That would be a nightmare to defend, especially if they went Flexbone or just huddled with that and then went 4-wide with Fournette and Norfleet in the slots. AHHHHH WHY DID YOU MAKE ME THINK ABOUT THIS?!?!?!? THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN.
Can D. Smith rotate with Norfleet?
If you can only get one player. Would you rather want Hand or Leonard
Hand, because we already have an elite back in green, but we could use an elite pass rusher
I know we just took an elite running back, but I've heard Fournette compared to Adrian Peterson. He's that good.
Well, sure, but we already have a guy compared to Mark Ingram (but faster.)
I'd like them both, but Hand fills a more important need, since we have both Green and Smith from last year and are in good position for top guys next year.
They consistently get top power backs. We have the O line it is our turn. Depth is necessary.
Hand, even excluding the fact that we already have Derrick Green. You can find an average running back to run behind a stellar offensive line and be just fine. On the flip side, being able to rush four and get pressure defensively won the Giants a Super Bowl.
Plus, even a great back will have trouble running behind a problematic OL.
For this reason, smart RBs look at OL recruiting in evaluating programs. Given the superb line prospects already in place, it's not surprising another quality back is giving Michigan a look.
I agree with you, but I'm just going to say this:
I don't think our Defensive Line with Hand would be good enough to win a Super Bowl. Probably.
I think it would have a shot in the AFC West, though. ;)
I'd take Hand and a Mach V video game from 1984 over Fournette, but if Fournette were to come with a Mattel Intellivision or Nintendo Tecmobowl, talk to the hand Hand.
Hand, McDowell & Fournette + Interplay's AD&D "Gold Box"
Hand. Don't have anyone like him on the roster.
Hand, only because our running back situation looks pretty good already. They are both amazing talents though.
Hand in a heartbeat. Great running backs are due in big part to a great offensive line. Put an average 2-star guy behind an Alabama-esque offensive line and he'll still have a 1000 yd season, at least. And what do you think Hoke's been recruiting for?
We don't have anyone on our roster right now like Hand. We don't have a stud on our defensive line who can take games over by himself and put pressure on the QB even if he's double-teamed. That's Hand for you in a nutshell. Not to take away from Fournette; he's a game changer. But Hand is a game changer that doesn't need to rely on another part of the team to be effective.
Well said
was a top 10 guy, though admittidly hasn't shown ability to take over a game (except that one practice clip)
But very few freshman defensive linemen ever have.
THIS DICHOTOMY IS FALSE
HOKE'S CHOICE is the opposite of SOPHIE'S CHOICE
leonard if you are reading this...
we all think you'd be great in maize & blue and as a teammate of Hand 'n Peppers.
