Just so we're all clear -

We are sending coaches to talk to kids that are no longer employed by the University.

The incompetence of the athletic department never ceases...

I really hope you're kidding.

They're sending in the guy who's coached these seniors for the last four years and who's been in there with the team day in and day out for the entirity of almost every player on the roster's time at Michigan. They're going to let him tell them that he's being let go before they hear it become official through the media. Just so we're all clear.

Ha, I really screwed that up if that's what people think I meant.

I was referring to the assistants being out on the road talking to recruits.

I cannot imagine a situation that would look worse than a coach coming in, saying whatever it is that these assistants have to lie about to the recruits, and then literally a day later they are all fired.

Sorry for any confusion, I absolutely think Hoke should be able to talk to the current players.

I think they sent the assistants out on the road yesterday to personally tell the recruits that they were being let go, and to try to get as many as possible of them to still stay with Michigan. I don't think any of these coaches will leave Michigan on bad terms, they all understand the situation.

If Hoke were being retained, then Hoke would be at the presser.  It wouldn't be Hackett's presser.

Isn't there a team meeting at 3 pm?  We'll know then, right.

Clearly, you can BK FINEST it that the new coach will have a long NFL pedigree, and his first name starts with a "J."

(I am, of course, referring to Jon Gruden.)

Way to drag things out. Now I know how the folks in Ferguson felt waiting for the indictment. Actually I still don't know how they feel, but I digress. WTF LET'S DO THIS

I'm okay with this. This gives time to Hoke to tell the players of his fate himself. I'd rather they not hear it from a tweet or Sportscenter, and they deserve to be the first to know anyway.

Don't be surprised if Hoke is let go and Carr is named interim, with no definitive end on the "interim" term (ie until the right coach is found, even if that isn't this off season).
