4* WR Brad Hawkins to announce Friday
According to Scout's Brian Dohn, New Jersey 4* Brad Hawkins will announce on Friday. The two heavy favorites are Michigan and South Carolina. Sam Webb feels that Michigan has a good shot at this one.
Four-star @bradhawkins9 told me his announcing Friday. Finalists are #michigan #SouthCarolina #Rutgers #Temple http://www.scout.com/player/186144-brad-hawkins/news …
Hopefully his team teammate Ron Johnson went home and convinced him to commit

Don't you mean Ronald Johnson?

Hopefully this goes better than the kareem thing. I don't think South Carolina employs the bagman.
our bagmen are better than theirs.

we need more WR recruits in this class.
Especially highly regarded WR prospects.
Double
Especially WR prospects that are highly regarded.
...or those who are held in high esteem by most conventional measurements of relative regard as it pertains to recruiting. Either way.
We could use a WR yet in the class - I don't think, and I could be wrong, that we've got anyone specifically to play WR to this point (key word being "specifically").
I thought Evans was recruited as a slot but I could be wrong. Still not an outside receiver though
Especially...
a good shot at this one.
Go ahead and get it out the way Brad. Even though he didn't make his visit with the rest of the NJ crew, I'm pretty sure they gave him some rave reviews.
Would feel much better about this if he had visited this past week.
Any word on the timeline for Mitchell?
July 29th I believe
Where did you hear that?

These timelines all fit nicely when we don't have many spots left. Let's hope it's no coincidence that these guys are all announcing relatively soon.
If we get Hawkins, does that mean Mitchell is off the table? Or can we get both?
I assume we take both since the coaches were trying to sell Mitchell, Hawkins and Stewart of all leaving NJ and coming to Michigan. Looks like Stewart isn't coming here but the other two are still possibilities.
We will get both and FWIW, Allen Trieu has Stewart in his best guess class he put out 2 days ago. He has all 3 NJ receivers.

Stewart because he let it be known it was his dream school.
Stanford had good coaching but they don't have Harbaugh and staff.
And even if he doesn't develop into a starter, I think it's clear that we want PC to be Cass Tech East (even more so considering how CT has been infiltrated lately)

We'll considering we don't have a single wide receiver in this class so far, and WR is a position of need, I would say yes

And I mean yes, we can take both

Chris Evans
I think we take 3 WRs

But SRSLY, I think after the Ron Johnson commit that if Hawkins falls, so does Mitchell. Wow.
Columbia is a dump. I couldn't see an out of state kid choosing Columbia and South Carolina over Ann Arbor and Michigan.
You'll freeze to death though in AA.

I'd rather freeze to death or lose a few fingers than EVER go back to Columbia. Seriously, that city is the absolute worst. It's a trash dump.

Born and raised in AA. Now live just outside Columbia. And I don't think it's fair to say it's a dump compared to AA, which isn't exactly an exotic paradise. In Columbia, it's warm and sunny all year, hour and a half from the beach, and I wouldn't blame the kid for not wanting to freeze 300 days a year. Love me some AA and Go Blue forever, just thought that wasn't a good comparison
Kid from Jersey freeze 300 days a year in AA?
But the comment still stands. Like I said, I love Ann Arbor. Visit every summer. But that place sucks for a good 6 months every year. Cold and snow from November till mid April.
If Ann Arbor weren't cold from November through April, I would be so much less in love with it.
I'm a bit amused by people who find certain climates and weather patterns dreadful, as if there is any objective basis for one aspect of nature to be more or less inherently good than any other. Snow and rain aren't dreadful; they just are.
What is dreadful is not the weather but a person's hardened mental position about those types of weather--the emotional reaction, resistance, and negativity.
"O, now he's a philosophizer".
Haha sorry Carrismyhomeboy, won't bring up weather anymore. Touchy topic. Just was responding to Landrys snarky remarks, saying maybe the kid likes the heat, or the beach, or something else completely reasonable along those lines
Winter weather hits NJ hard for about 5 months of the year so I think he will adapt pretty well.
Weather is the "negative" about Ann Arbor that is really subjective.
But then again "negatives" on other campus' are subjective too. Someone somewhere thinks Columbia is less of a dump than Ann Arbor.
Cold is cold and the older I get the more I dislike it!
school weather, in a city with things to do. Summer is for the beach.
not even if lou holtz were the coach?
I second that comment . I have to go to South Carolina frequently because in-laws live there. The only attraction has to be Steve Spurrier because I have stated to my wife that you could not pay me to live in South Carolina.
Mitchell and Hawkins seem like our best chances with Claypool probably going to ND.
No reason not to think Blue here

Sam Webb is confident. THAT is enough of a reason for me...

And I guess we are back in it for Corley too.
Where did you hear this?
He was supposed to decide on July 26, if he's moving it up this soon after his crew just got back bodes well for us.

Good sign. Time to add another one!
