Sarkisian recruited well before he bailed, that helped alot with this season.

Well, Alabama is trying to make sure that Washington understands that their first TD was essentially a form of trolling, if this drive by Alabama is any indication, especially if Washington is going to be that unable to stop Bo Scarborough for the rest of the game.
December 31st, 2016 at 3:39 PM ^
Look at how their O-Line gets off the ball. It's a thing of beauty
December 31st, 2016 at 3:46 PM ^
When Bredeson is a senior. Ruiz is a junior. We've got Leon-Herbert or Filiaga as a junior. Some 5* OT we'll get next year. Plus one more from this class, or last year. We'll finally be able to do the same.
Don't have it now. Braden is a guard, Newsome was our best shot at tackle. Cole can play C but needs another year. Kalis has never had it click and stay clicked. Magnuson is a jumbo TE who plays his ass off but just doesn't have that size, strength, Bama type country strong that knocks people off the ball.
I'm actually surprised we never put Mags at LT and tried Braden or Bredeson at RT.
Bredeson was a nice start but Ruiz, IMO is the first Bama type OL.

So we have 2019 to look forward to.

Nice that's only 2 more losses to OSU.
Apparently Michigan is the only place in college where we gotta wait 4 years for progress. Everyone else can win championships and conferences by year 3 and 2.
December 31st, 2016 at 4:15 PM ^
7 years. The norm is not 2-3 years. Maybe that is the norm to turn a program into a competitive one which I think Harbaugh has done a damn good job of doing. More than anything after a loss, I hate the irrational fans that just throw out bs statements that are based off the minority instead of the majority.
December 31st, 2016 at 6:14 PM ^
I hate when fans spew things that are NOT true.
Clemson won the ACC in year 3 with Dabo.
They appeared in the conference championship in his first year.
They waited 7 years to play in the National Championship.

isn't Leon-Herbert leaning towards Florida?

That drive was 100% allll MANBALL.
That kid is a fucking monster.
December 31st, 2016 at 3:40 PM ^
Such a luxury to have. On that 3rd and 2 play, the O Line created about 5 yards of space off the line of scrimmage. Unbelievable

That's filthy...when will Michigan get a QB like Washington or rb like Bama?

QB wise- Peters and McCaffrey...
RB- please come Najee!!!

QB isn't the problem. Could have used more Higdon and Evans at RB in our 3 losses though. A good running game can do wonders for a qb too.

Not all that impressed with Browning. The couple UW games I've seen he hasn't been all that good. As for rb, hopefully next year

He's a true sophomore. The kids gonna play on Sunday's in 2 years for sure. But he looked pretty shitty against Colorado last game for sure. Had like 7 completions

Need a game changer at RB. Guess we need some OLmen that can step right in and start also ...
December 31st, 2016 at 3:42 PM ^
Easy to run when your oline spots you 5 yards a play. Just absurd.
December 31st, 2016 at 4:05 PM ^
I remember watching Huckleby and others running behind our lines in the late 70s. From my underclassmen seats in the end zone we could see the o line just make this big V, pushing to the right this time, to the left the next. The RBs and Rick Leach could just run into the 5-7 yards of space created by the line and pick up that much yardage on every play. It was amazing to see and made it very obvious just what a good line can do for a team.

Deveon smith would be an all-American behind this line. It's science.

I would be an All American behind that line. And I haven't played a down of football in my life.

Alabama is an embarrassment of the riches. Their fans are so spoiled. I can't wait for Saban to retire.
December 31st, 2016 at 3:43 PM ^
is like a semi-pro team. It's absurd. They have prototype players at every position. They just look bigger and faster ....I really hope Harbaugh gets us close to that - OSU is headed that way too the way they've been recruiting.
Peterson will need to coach a masterpiece here to pull this off.
December 31st, 2016 at 3:44 PM ^
Whether or not Bama now blows them out, been impressed with Washington's team speed all season. They're so quick in a lot of spots

Faster at every position than we are, sans maybe Chesson but his speed was rarely utilized
December 31st, 2016 at 3:47 PM ^
They have 2 receivers faster than him I believe (Ross [who just fumbled] and Pettis). Or they're just as fast.

They would beat Michigan. Gaskin, good Browning, Pettis, Budda Baker. Playmaker s everywhere.

Oops. Wash. can't turn it over. They had a good drive going too. Don't give any help to Alabama.
December 31st, 2016 at 3:50 PM ^
What the hell are they doing to coach RBs at Bama?? When they take the first hit it's like watching someone get hit by a wave in the water. They just slow down for a second and then keep moving. Don't even get knocked off balance.
December 31st, 2016 at 3:51 PM ^
Take a look at the rankings of their backs coming out of high school. All 5 star guys. They have unbelievable strength, speed and balance

They do get a lot of 5 star guys at Alabama. Though I also think they have probably the best strength and conditioning program in college football. I mean, many of the players just seem so strong and physical.
