#4 Washington - #1 Bama Open Thread

Submitted by NJblue2 on

Figured I start one for this game. Rooting for Washington and Clemson today, but obviously will probably be disappointed.

Go Huskies.

just to see a different team in the final.  Also, what's with the split screen BS?  I hate it...you can only watch one screen, and I prefer the traditional view.

Damn I wish we'd won yesterday. Even ugly. Makes these games so much more enjoyable.

I REALLY want to get into this game, instead it'll just be background noise for awhile.

I think OSU will beat Clemson and I just want Bama to win it all because that basically means nothing changes this year. Just let Bama keep winning it till we get there

Older gentleman in my church is a former AD at Washington. (He was AD at Auburn as well. He's 94 now, so that was quite some time ago.) So go Huskies!

The tough thing here is that under normal circumstances, I'd be 100% for Washington.  But the fear is that a UW win could mean OSU finagling its way to a title.  I wish they'd played their semfinal already.  It would make this game a lot easier to figure out.

Was literally just going to type this. I hate Bama, but under no circumstances do I want Ohio State to be given an easier path (assuming they take care of Clemson, who I feel has been on borrowed time this year).
Even when they were unlucky (sanctions, Tress steps down), they get Urban all giftwrapped.
I don't care who wins it all this year...just not Ohio State.

I feel it's about schemes. We had Ohio State beat because of our defense, and Ohio State seems to struggle with power offenses with good skill players.
If Washington were to play OSU, I feel like their defense is a step down from Bama, and their offense plays into OSU's strength, which is athletic linebackers and awesome pass rush.

I follow bama pretty closely, not sold that this is one of their better despite being undefeated. Would not be surprised if Washington won by 10 plus points and I hope OSU gets crushed.

What is the starzzz talent level of Washington?  Has Peterson just coached them up incredibly fast or were they recruiting well before?  I don't remember a lot of guys picking Washington the last few years.
