4* TE Chris Barnett to visit weekend of Jan. 28
Via Rivals, 4* TE Chris Barnett will be visiting the weekend of January 28. He's currently a commit to Arkansas, but has seemingly opened up his recruitment as he is visiting Michigan, as well as Miami this weekend. (Note to Al Golden: kindly FUAD.)
No word on our chances per se, but hey, if you can get 'em on campus anything's possible.

It took me a while to find the 11th cat

Happened to me the first time i tried too.

that guy is holding a lot of money
January 19th, 2011 at 3:33 PM ^
I have a feeling there's going to be a couple more tight ends pop up, or come back on the board.
January 19th, 2011 at 3:35 PM ^
So is that why Tim seemed to think that Hoke is trying to get Clark for defense?
January 19th, 2011 at 3:37 PM ^
I can't read Tim's mind, but he probably said that because Frank Clark is short.
January 19th, 2011 at 3:44 PM ^
You know all of this recruiting information but you're now saying you're not a mind reader? Well, my faith in you is seriously shaken with this new knowledge. I thought you had at least one special power of information gathering and mind-reading was my first guess . . .
January 19th, 2011 at 3:45 PM ^
Ah, yeah Clark does seem to be a little short for TE. I would be alright if he was an OLB if we are able to get a nice TE recruit.
January 19th, 2011 at 3:43 PM ^
Makes sense now! Get him Hokester!
January 19th, 2011 at 3:39 PM ^
Please get Jay Rome or Nick O'Leary to visit. Thanks Tom.
January 19th, 2011 at 3:58 PM ^
That would be awesome since Nick's grandpa is the Golden Bear. We all know where that guy went to school. The only other names I can think of are Austin Traylor who committed to Wisconsin and Drew Owens who committed to South Carolina.
January 19th, 2011 at 7:46 PM ^
Brian Miller who committed to Boston College and Ray Hamilton who committed to Iowa and possibly uncommitted Darien Bryant have all been mentioned at some point during this year's recruiting cycle.
January 19th, 2011 at 4:19 PM ^
I love me some TEs, lol!
January 19th, 2011 at 5:04 PM ^
Ray Hamilton?
January 19th, 2011 at 6:00 PM ^
Ray Hamilton visit.
January 19th, 2011 at 3:33 PM ^
Keep all the recruits coming baby!!!! HOKE-A-MANIA!!!!!
January 19th, 2011 at 3:34 PM ^
Golden is looking like someone at YTM gave him a serious recruiting "budget."
January 19th, 2011 at 4:03 PM ^
Hmm, what makes you think that?
January 19th, 2011 at 3:39 PM ^
FSU, USC, Oklahoma, ND, Clemson, Oregon, Tennessee
#15 TE to Rivals, #16 TE to Scout (3*), #20 TE to ESPN (3*)
From Texas
January 19th, 2011 at 4:16 PM ^
ND hasn't offered him
January 19th, 2011 at 4:38 PM ^
what are you the recruiting coordinator in SB? Rivals lists an offer, so...
Anyway, I'm a closet ND fan myself (though very distant second to M, and by soon-to-be-marriage). I was at the Tulsa game, and lordy that was a low point on campus. Things have turned dramatically eh? Kelly better learn to run the ball from that spread though
January 19th, 2011 at 3:45 PM ^
I followed his recruitment for a bit when he was on UT's radar. Getting him to campus for an OV is good, but I could see him being a bit of a fickle personality even after the ink has dried on his LOI.
That said, I'd say he's the best pass-catching tight end in Texas this year. He's showed out pretty well at camps, and has really great hands. Off the cuff, something like a less-athletic version of Jermichael Finley might be an ok comparison.

January 19th, 2011 at 4:20 PM ^
Bennie Joppru
January 19th, 2011 at 4:42 PM ^
That is BIG Bennie Joppru to u my good man.
January 19th, 2011 at 5:20 PM ^
you can't be serious - i would take either remiersma, campbell, derek walker, tony mcgee twenty times before i came up with massaquoi. there are a ton others from before my time too.
massaquoi - srsly

I love the fact that it's so close to signing day. We'll be the last thing in his mind before he signs the papers.
January 19th, 2011 at 4:20 PM ^
Are there any other big time programs who are proudly old school pro style?
don't most programs profess a love for the spread?
not many people to have to compete against for quality pro style players like TEs and 6'5" slow QBs
