"The Michigan official couldn’t have gone better," said Patterson. "I loved the change of life in the midwest and the people in Ann Arbor."

Patterson visited Michigan just days after he decommitted from Arizona State and his time with the coaches and players left a good impression.

"What stood out most was the football players even spend time with regular students," said Patterson. "Everyone is interconnected and the players are all laid back guys. My host was Ben Bredeson. He is a starting guard and was super welcoming and showed me all around Ann Arbor. I couldn’t have asked for a better host and guy to be with. I also spent time with Devin Bush and Quinn Nordin."

There were also meetings with the Michigan coaches.

"I met all the coaches on the staff," said Patterson. "I spent the most time with Coach (Joe) Hastings, Coach (Tim) Drevno, and Coach (Jim) Harbaugh. Coach Harbaugh knows when to joke around but also knows when it is work time. He has so many stories to tell and is crazy energetic."

Jarrett visits UCLA next weekend.

Drevno is doing in-home visit in CA this Thursday.

Looks like a January decision.

First, "football players even spend time with regular students".

Is that not the case everywhere?

Second, "I loved the change of life".

Teenage boy goes through menopause, news at 11.

With seperate dorms, seperate dinning facilities, seperate weight rooms, classes targeted to athletes, and most of a student athletes time spent practicing and reviewing film......no, on most college campuses, athletes do not engage with the regular student body very much.

I think this is one of the reasons fewer students attend games. There's not really a strong connection to the athletes anymore.

Would love for Patterson to be part of the Michigan family!  Another highly-talented, well-coached lineman with room to grow into an All-American.

Go Blue, Jarrett!

Hate to say it, but this is feeling like another instance of us finishing second behind UCLA for a prospect.  We need to land Nicholas Petit-Frere in the worst way.

No insider information, but I can't see committing to Michigan now, before a UCLA visit, unless Jarrett is sure that's where he wants to go. Besides, it's not like he hasn't been to UCLA before... he lives sixty miles away. And I'm sure by now he got some "what's it like/ what to expect" intel from Crawford, another South Orange County recruit.

ASU has been worried about losing him to UCLA before Chip even came to town. Main reason for committing to ASU was his best friend was going to school there. Uphill battle, but if there is a Harbaugh there is a way.

Call me Pollyanna, but I don't see anything negative here.  Young man says he had a great visit.  If nothing else it really sounds like he is seriously considering Michigan.
