4-Star DB Leon McQuay III Visiting This Weekend
Just connecting the dots through Rivals (picture of Leon McQuay) that he is visiting this weekend. The heading also reads as "visitors" so there may be others visiting as well. He'd be a huge pickup (6'2" 185) - Rivals has him as the 32nd best player in the country and the 3rd best safety. Offers from virtually everyone, including the ESSSEEEECEEE.
Tremendous/Aquaman, etc. any idea on when he wants to make a decision?
Is this confirmed? I had not heard that. It would be a coup to get him to visit.
Very well.
From what I've heard he's visiting because he told the coaches he would visit at one point and his father wants him to be a man of his word. Obviously it's always a really great opportunity to get a prospect on campus, but worst case scenario it's just a formality and he's not very open about leaving the state. Here's hoping the visit blows him away.
Getting a kid to visit is half the battle. As we saw with Ty Isaac, you never know what can happen after you get a kid to visit.
If so, it's the easy half. A lot of kids visit, most don't commit.
In a case like this, the best you can say is that it opens up the possibility. If the kid absoltely gushes afterwards (e.g., Banner, Mathis, Garnett) then we'll have a shot - but it'll still unlikely.
is huge and not as easy as you make it sound (especially on an unofficial visit). It costs a lot of money to do it, and a kid like that has a lot of options.
Banner and Garnett both were on official visits, and Michigan ended up a finalist for Garnett. Mathis visited during a camp setting and didn't really get a full tour, and Michigan is still in his top group for now.
The odds are low for pulling any top 50 recruit (especially from FL, TX, or CA). But our odds just significantly improved by getting him on campus which is why I feel this news should be greeted with some optimism or at least wait to see what his post visit reaction is like.
Visits are only valuable in so far as they aid in commitments. Given that it's still very very unlikely that a top 50 recruit with no significant ties to the progarm or area commits to Michigan, I wouldn't call it 'huge' at all.
The visit is just a starting point.
Already have a great saftey coming in(Dunn) but you can never have to man DB's in my opinipion.. Offense wins games, A great D will win Championships.. We need more of a consistent secondary so a committ from consensus 4* would be nice for a great weekend!
Come on man, this post is just a bunch of nonsense
Worst post ever
I, for one, agree. Getting a strong power forward this year is an absolute MUST to ensure that Michigan gets to the Frozen Four for the 24th time in a row.
(for the blazing saddles fans)
I didn't get a "harrump" out of that guy!
...you watch your ass
excuse me while i whip this out
Forever would seem to be the obvious response.
Soon he will tell them he coached Dymonte Thomas
I mean, stop telling me I remind you of..
an 8 time pro-bowler.
a 2-time All American
a College Conference Defensive MVP
Franchine record holder for most INTs
School Record Holder for Interceptions and Interception TDs.
Alma-mater Hall of Fame member
please.....stop it.
A couple more years. Then he will just tell them that he coached Dymonte Thomas.
Just like how you see every Urban Meyer WR/TE recruit talk about being used in the Percy Harvin and Aaron Hernandez roles.
Can anyone leave an honest response about a recruit without being downvoted? If it's not praise or claiming we're the leader it must be garbage, right?
As long as that recruit is commited to MSU or OSU.
Or if your Magnus, because playing it safe and being bearish on EVERY recruit gives you credibility.
Release him.
Who would win in an epic battle:
The McQuay-ken or the McCray-ken
/speculation commence.
Good player. If he comes great, if not, I'm still happy because of Dymonte.
Dymonte Thomas is a safety. They want McQuay as a corner.
Oops..then I'm still happy with Lewis and Conley.
Racist!
