Optimism Attache

You know, if one person, just one person, does it, they may think he's really sick and they won't take him.

And if two people do it, in harmony, they may think they're both losers and they won't take either of them.

And if three people do it! Can you imagine three people walkin' out of Columbus singin' a bar of "Hail to the Victors"? They may think it's a recruiting revolution!

And can you imagine fifty people a day? I said FIFTY recruits a day...

2017 recruit from out of state.  It's unlikely OSU would keep all their 2017 kids anyway with so long until signing day.  OSU has lost a total of 3 games in 3 years under Meyer, nothing's crumbling down until he retires, he moves on, or Harbaugh beats him into submission.

At least Judson is letting them down easy and early.

Anyway, linked at the bottom of this story is an interesting September article about Urban's concerns with his national recruiting, and how it's leaving great Ohio players for Sparty. I wonder if Urban will start offering more local kids.

A few kids decommit from nearly every program every year even the top programs.

So either the #1 ranked, currently undefeated, defending national champion is "losing its luster" or else the kid simply decided he was a better fit somewhere else.

LOL, I can assure you, OP, that OSU is not losing recruiting luster because of one four-star athlete. They just won the title, which means recruits are (unfortunately) waiting in line for an offer.

Lost its luster? Keep dreaming pal. Kids commit from good and bad schools all the time. Even the top schools. There are likely a dozen or so (at least) really good recruits lined up begging to take his place.

OSU won't lose any of its luster until Meyer leaves or if Harbaugh manages to create some kind of power shift.

anybody else sensing a faint feeling of turmoil over at OSU? Does Meyer have a built in "expiration" date like some suggest that Harbaugh does? Things don't seem entirely "rosey" in Columbus right now.

What are you talking about? They look like shit but fuck they're #1 still and have lost like 2 games in to his 3rd year now and have a national championship. I think they're doing okay

I'm thinking of our collective reaction to a thread on 11W or RCMB (probably more likely the latter) crowing about the decline of recruiting prestige at Michigan because of the loss of one high school junior. Then I think about how it would look even sillier if we were the currently undefeated, #1-ranked, defending National Champions and they were a program with five or more losses in six of the past seven years.

that Urban does not know what he is doing or how to recruit.  Indiana has not lost a recruit this week so they obviously have it figured out - same with Purdue!

Ha Ha Urbs - you may be #1 in recruiting and in the polls but you lost a recruit - YOU SUCK
