4* CA S Sean Parker

Submitted by The Other Brian on
Sounds like he's coming in this weekend for his official. Also of note: He's narrowed his list to Michigan, USC, Oregon, Washington and Cal. Note that there is a certain school omitted...

Parker is higher rated. Parker is more of a ball hawk, whereas Knight is more of a head hunter (not in a bad way). Parker is also a little bit bigger. In my opinion, Parker is a guy we haven't had here in a while - a guy who could truly roam center field and be a big play waiting to happen. Knight's also very good, but he doesn't have the same ball skills.

Not to be negative, but it's still a long way from signing day. If I remember, he was a heavy Notre Dame lean. If they hire a good coach who comes back after him hard, I wouldn't be surprised if he still ended up there. That said, still great that he's visiting. Hopefully we can get him here, we certainly need him and playing time can be a good selling point.

Yeah thats what happens when you release one of the key reasons he was looking at ND, and assuming thats correct ND was actually replaced by Washington

Obviously it's always a good thing to get a kid on campus, and anything can happen, but your thoughts. Sounds like a lot of West Coast schools and us. And thanks for posting, as always.

it seems like a guy from the south is looking at all SEC schools and Michigan. In cases like those we hardly ever get them. I would assume this is a similar situation. Unless he is just absolutely blown away, based on the finalists seems like location will play a factor.

This weekend sounds like a big weekend. Scout has a headline saying we could have 10 visitors including two "biggies" (one obviously being Parker). Anyone know who else might be coming in this weekend? EDIT: I know TomVH said Torrian Wilson will be coming in December...but not sure if its this weekend.

I don't understand the recruiting "pull" of Weis E. Coyote when the recent knock on ND is that they field poor defenses. Why would you want to play for a coach that will get you torched? Recruiting is a strange game...

I've spoken with him a couple times, and there's definitely a lot of interest in Michigan. Like I've said before, he's quiet, so he doesn't talk a lot about his recruitment. From what some of the people that have seen him at camps have said, he doesn't look the part of a safety, per se, but he hits hard and has natural instincts at the position. One of the assistant coaches, I believe, for his high school team has Michigan ties, as well. This will probably go until signing day, so we'll see what happens. I will say that I like our chances, as of now.
