3 WR set - Who do you like?

With Hemingway's great game against IU, it got me thinking...when we have 3 WRs on the field, who should be out there?

In my opinion, there are 4 WRs (Roundtree, Stonum, Hemingway & Odoms) for 3 spots. I like Hemingway over Odoms because of the downfield threat. What does everyone else think?

Hemingway really established himself as a downfield threat against IU and he deserves some more time on the field to show what he can do when not held back by injuries..

That's hard to pick. I like Hemingway over Odoms just because of height and downfield threatness (yes made up word), but I think Odoms has better hands (damn it Junior, how could you drop that wide open touchdown against BGSU?). I guess it really just comes down to what we run before that and who is out there at the time (since we run a fast tempo offense, WR / Slot substitutions are somewhat seldom during the drive).

My ideal set has Hemingway and Odoms as the "outside" guys and Roundtree in the slot.  Stonum has been better this year, but Hemingway still has the better track record as a downfield threat.  Odoms' blocking is amazing, and in this offense, that should keep him on the field.  Roundtree certainly has staked a solid claim to the slot.

I want Odoms out there as much as possible. He's short, but he's a badass who will make the tough catch in traffic (see ND game) and is also probably the best blocker among the receivers, which is really important with Denard running around. Roundtree owns the slot, so take your pick between Stonum and Hemingway. It depends on the situation, whether you need a guy to go downfield and go up and get the ball or someone for the shorter passes and then the ability to get YAC.

Roundtree and Odoms for sure, Odoms blocks like a god damn fullback. One think I love about watching Stonums kickoff return against Notre Dame last year is the block Odoms throws just a Stonum busts through the hole, all you see is a ND player flying through the air and #22 off to the races, watch it a couple times and guess who is demolishing him? Odoms is such a great blocker that he seems imperative to keep on the field given our offensive strategy.  Roundtree is excellent in the slot.  I would have to say that Stonum and Hemingway are very similar and I don't have a strong opinion either way.  Hemingway is a bit bigger, so that may play to his advantage.  Good question, it's hard to choose - and that is always a good problem to have.

I don't think it really matters, other than that Roundtree is on the field most of the time. I think Stonum, as someone mentioned, has more YAC capability than JR. It is nice to have a guy like Hemmingway (like the good Adrian Arrington a bit) who can adjust to the deep balls.

All four of the core WR's will be called upon in these next couple of games. I think its a largely reliable group, and should be fine.

I agree that it is great that we have so many good wide receivers that we are even able to have this discussion. Didn't Hemingway scored our first touch down of both the 2008 and 2009 seasons? His down field threat is definitely something that can take some pressure off our running game (although it could easily be argued that that hasn't been much of a problem for us this year seeing as our quarterback still leads the nation in rushing after 5 games - ridiculous!). My question is what about using a 4 WR set with Odoms and Roundtree both in the slot and Stonum and Hemingway on the outside? I know Odoms is playing outside this year, but he has 2 years of experience at slot, so it seems like that might be 1 way of getting them all on the field at once.
