Let's go boys, put this away.
# 3 Michigan vs. West Virginia mens basketball open thread
When Tim dribbles that way it scares me
Happen to find their stroke vs UM
Geez people, it's basketball. Teams make runs. ZOMG West Virginia cut the lead to 8.
God forbid we win a game by only 10.
I understand that basketball is a game of runs ... but it's frustrating to see that we should be up by 20+ points and aren't, and we're turning the ball over way more than we should/very sloppy play, etc.
frustrated that Michigan has found themselves letting a handful of games that could be giant blow outs turn into single digit finishes.. and it worries them for the future conference play.
Stauskus has had an off shooting night and we lost Horford. And we're still up 11. Color me not concerned in the least that we might not have a 20+ victory. It's not like WVU is
Eastern Western Michigan, either.
We could be Indiana today...
or Tuskeegee, who is only down by 7 to sparty at the half.
plus you can add the refs have been a bit sketchy these final ten minutes. anyways, i stand by my point.. at least in my case, I wanna see better finishes just for confidence come big ten play. I don't need to tell you that you cannot even let one big ten game slip away this year.
How the fuck does WVU keep hitting these dogshit 3-pointers? I could've sworn they were shooting well above 50%, however I see they are only 6/15. Seems like they've made a lot more.
Nik just not feeling it tonight.
I knew Nik was pretty guaranteed to come back to earth with his 3s but I chose not to believe it. it'll come back again and we can put the 3 fingers in the air every time. however, he can really drive
stop bitching about the stretches...five freshman getting serious minutes. not hard to figure out. You praise them when they show their talent, but constantly bitch about dry stretches and defensive lapses. You take the good (alot more of this) with the bad.
just dry stretches. This team seems to keep blowing big leads late and it could catch up with them eventually. Maybe they just get bored and want to make a game of it?
I wish MGoBlog was around when the Fab 5 were. I would love to read a Fab 5 game open thread, you wanna talk about lapses.
Jalen has to know when to dish! Juwan was doubled and Ray was sitting all alone in the corner! You can't drive into a congested lane...why the hell is Fischer starting 5 freshmen? This group needs leadership. Eric Riley would never have....
We have to expect teams to have good 3-pt shooting. There will be someone better in the b1g and in march. But damn Nik, hit one!
wvu's been pressing hard for a while now. both teams look like they're getting tired.
such a spoiled bunch so soon, lmao
I feel this team live or die with our 3rd scorer...when one of Robinson or Stauskus steps up, the offense is unstoppable...when it is just Hardaway and Burke, we become much more inefficient, but still quite capable.
Called for the foul.... seems legit
It looked, for a second, like Bacari was using his cell phone while sitting on the bench next to Horford. I checked my Twitter feed. No Bacari Twitter-blitz, sadly.
Why was that a foul on Morgan?
Foul? Really? No, seriously. Really?
They're just shaving points to prove Kenpom right.
Burke getting on up for the rebound!
Radio breaking up on me again. Anyone got a score update?
79-66 30 secs left
won by 15...bring on the snowflake thread!
We iz good
Some sloppy play - more teaching moments.
Waving goodbye to that douchey WVU on the floor. Gotta love it.
While I'm guessing we will not overtake Duke, does anyone think we may have made a case for the #1 spot? Or at least garner some votes for it?
Not really, duke has beaten 3 teams ranked in the top 5 when they played and I think 5 ranked teams total, we've beaten one.
No way in hell. our schedule has been tuff, but look at Dukes schedule so far. They DESERVE it.
A side note, MSU is struggling against lil ole Tuskegee college.
I see you, basketball. GO BLUE!
Proud of these guys- cool to see them play in Brooklyn. And glad to have Beilein as our coach.. WVU didn't seem to mind much at first, but now Beilein has his players and system, looks great.
But most importantly, hope Horford a speedy recovery. I can't imagine it's something minor, but that would be great news if it were. As always... GO BLUE!
In other news, MSU had 13 turnovers at the half against Tuskegee. That is hilarious.
That has responded pretty well to the ebb and flow of the games. Opponents have made runs and the Wolverines have had answers.
Some Sloppy Play, Some Inconsistent Play, Few Bad Fouls....but still beat a Big 12 team by 15 and held a double digit lead for 85-90% of the game! This team is GOOD! Congrats on being 11-0!
Hope Horford is okay.
NYC is our bitch
We are just practicing for when rutgers is in the league
great point too, I'll go along with it
good day for umich... two football recruits and a solid win in bball. and now back to studying, sigh.
Good win last night
