To them we are number 4 but on a comment a person asked that if we add Jarrod Wilson our class could jump to number 2 and even push Notre Dame for the number 1 spot. Come on Jarrod go Blue!!
Sorry for the onslaught of posts by the way fellow mgobloggers.
Wow, particularly impressive when you consider we have to have the top linebacker class at this point as well.
Given that Wilson isn't in the top 247, i doubt we'd move to number one. Definitely a damn good group of dbs though.
Is stacked at the DB position this year. They are gonna have at least 6 dbs in this recruiting class.
The 100 dbs they put on the field each season
I hope GERG is available as a consultant to help them out in that transition due to his vast knowledge and success with that scheme.
You forgot the /s
Our class could easily end up being the best DB class. All that the sites typically do is add up the total stars, which doesn't tell you everything. We have a cover corner, a boundary corner, a strong safety, and we are doing our best to land a free safety. IMO, that would be a heck of a talented, but also balanced class. ND can accumulate all the cover corners they want, I really like the direction that we are headed in . . . .
You can never have enough cover corners. I can appreciate a good safety but I'll take cover corners over boundary corners any day.
When a cover corner screws up, the safety usually bails him out because he's closer to the middle of the field. When a boundary corner gets beat or whiffs a tackle, it's usually 6 points.
Depends on scheme and playcall. But having 2 cover corners gives you the freedom to call plays you would hesitate calling with one cover corner.
Just imagine if we also had Morgan. Can't wait to see Wilson's Hello: post though
Kalis, Dunne, Wormley, Pipkins, Washington,
Would any of these fine prospects push us to challenge for top overall class?
Don't forget Jordan Diamond too.
Wow. Try and keep up.
Great to read that. Anyone see the new class rankings on ESPN? Michigan is the only school north of Alabama in the top 14. Definately not biased towards any conference or region.
This has a chance to be a very solid group especially if we add Wilson soon and could border on great if they all excell. I think Standifer is definitely underrated by most of the sites and I've seen Gant play several times. I think he will be alot better than most people think. We all now how great Richardson is !
Interesting. We're probably not going to stay at #4 (or higher) unless we get Jarrod Wilson. This is more a product of which teams have multiple players committed right now than what the final classes will look like.
I think you are right. Regardless of rankings, I think the staff has done a good job at addressing needs, and not just in regards to the secondary. Hopefully they continue to do it year in year out.
Allen Gant didn't camp anywhere or try to get exposure nationally because he always wanted to go to Michigan. Couldn't his ratings still go up as this season progresses? That would definitely help keep this DB class at the top.
His ratings could go up, but his (and others) could go down, too.
