Don't care. Players work too hard to not get in the game if they can contribute even if it's just special teams. If he's so good that he can get drafted after three years, he's not staying for a fifth year anyways.

RBs can jump in earlier than other positions so long as the pass pro is there. There will be other options (and I suspect really good options) with or without a Walker fifth year

Sam had an interview with Wheatley before last weeks game and he said Walker was working hard and could be back in practice soon. He also had high praise for Higdon.

IMO, it's worthless to redshirt a high profile RB. If Walker lives up to his recruiting ranking, he'll be gone in three years. Running backs have a very shot life span in the NFL so he has to go as soon as possible.

Makes me so happy people are finally jumping on board.

I'd do those depth charts in the offseason and people automatically dismissed him because he didn't do much last year.

My comment to that was, he had to have done things in practice to earn the carries he got. He seemed like an obvious redshirt choice and he played and we even had special packages for him last year. He'd just get tripped up or someone would miss the one block he needed to spring a big run.

The kid can play - no question. I'm glad he's having some success now and showcasing his skills. He and Evans give us some quality speed at the RB position so we don't need to use Jabrill as much.

Not sure why people need to solicit info that they are too cheap to pay for...It is one thing for people to voluneteer info, but this site posts stuff so regularly that posts like this are a waste of space

While it's not the end of the world if he plays, it wouldn't be that surprising if he redshirted. They're saying that he'll probably start practicing soon, meaning that not only has he missed a significant chunk of the season already (and by missed it's by all accounts completely missed, with 100% focus on academics and seemingly 0% focus on football, outside of the weight room), but more importantly he also missed fall camp. It seems like a tall order to make up enough ground on that front to be able to get in, not to mention to be able to pass some guys on the depth chart, which he'd probably have to do since we're getting more into the meat of the schedule and there will likely be fewer garbage time snaps.

I remember being quite pleased when we kinda stole KW away from OSU.  I would also be quite please if/when he does start to become a solid back.  This year though, I think our stable is rather impressive already; and I just don't see KW having that much an impact.

I think it's the smart move. We have 4 solid RB's this season and a couple of good fullbacks so why not let him concentrate on academics, learning the playbook, getting bigger and stronger in the weight room while working with his teammates? I think he could come in next season and slide right into Smith's spot if he stays focused and wants it.
