Is Jake Locker not the most overrated college QB you've seen in years?  For the past 2 seasons it's been Jake Locker Heisman, Jake Locker #1 overall pick in NFL draft.

Name me one big game he's had.  Even the USC win last year was an ok performance.  I can't remember a more overrated QB.

Locker has NFL size, he can make all the throws, and he can run the ball.  But against the Nebraska defense yesterday, he had no running game, his receivers were blanketed, and he had defensive linemen constantly in his face.  Despite that, he managed to get his team in the end zone three times and keep the game reasonably competitive into the third quarter.  Sometimes statistics don't tell the real story.

When UMass was setting up for the onsides kick, I was debating whether we would remain in the top #25.  Now that we're steady at 21/22, I say, we dodged a bullet, lets learn from our mistakes and lets keep gettiing better.

Moral of the story: this game won't define our season.

to still be ranked, if for no other reason than to comfort recruits who are making sure the team is truly back before they commit.  Where we are now really matters pretty little; if we keep winning, we'll rise.  If not, we'll fall.  Just win, baby.

Shakes out about how I thought.  Pollsters who didn't see the UM game probably figured UMass made it interesting at the end, but 42 points is still an impressive total.  Also, after the last couple of weeks, maybe they figured a letdown was in order.  Still, at this point being ranked is inconsequential - if this team is ranked at the end of the year, then I'll be happy.

Stanford has been destroying people, but their games are later in the day and they have not really battled a big-name opponent yet.  If they crush ND next week, I expect them to be in the top-12 to top-15.

Nebraska looked incredibly dangerous yesterday, and may be the toast of the Big 12.  Not sure about Washington yet, though, since Locker has certainly not set the world on fire.
