2017 Preferred Walk-ons
I put together a list of all the preferred walk-ons and commits (LINK). Personally, I think Jess Speight has some pretty high upside as a potential center or guard down the line, although Cesar Ruiz might lock down the center job for the majority of his career.
Have I missed anyone? Which guys do you think have the best chance at contributing?

That's fair, of course, but I do have one little criticism in that regard -
NEEDS MOAR CACHE VARNISHING.
How do we know what's going on tomorrow without a cache that is properly and evenly varnished?

Well, so much for that problem being fixed. I thought those glitches had mostly been taken care of.

Veingrad visited this past weekend but I don't believe has made a decision yet. He has a couple of offers from schools like Wagner and Elon.

to have this year's group of PWOs join us when the official release of the Martin commitment came out, Of course, given the magnitude of that particular get made anything else at that particular moment of far less importance.
However, I was watching tape of H. Reynolds - DB - 6'0" 185 ehen the Martin news broke. I had read your post about his lack of quick twitch muscles preventing his chance for succes at the skill postions, but I realized he could help in a number of other ways, specifically, as many of them do, on special teams. This kid is a pretty good football player, and similar to a couple others, probably would have been welcomed by smaller schools and have seen immediate PT.
But it speaks to this whole group in general. Of course, Harbaugh must have noticed a posibility in each of them to grant PWO status, and historically we have had contribution from non scholarship players, most recently and possibly most notably, from a family with three brothers, all of whem decided to play here.
First of all, I think it takes a special kid, appearing to have significant talent to earn a grant in aid, if not at D1, outside the P5, significant enough to most assuredly to be attractive to a smaller division school. The obvious combination of attributes makes them outside the norm. The fact they're all willing to put in the extra time required of the entire football team with an understandable challenging adacemic workload speaks to their confidence in and willingnes t demonstrate to the staff an attitude and ability to qualify for a schloraship down the road.
I think the group as a whole is pretty high quality. I have no idea how long they are willing to spend time on scout teams and doing work of that nature. But I think they are talented enough to make those on scholarship work hard every day and that's a hell of a contribution in itself. Good group overall, and am happy Harbaugh is providing them a chance.
