2017 PFF All-B1G First Team Defense
Leave it to the experts to tell us who's on the real ALL B1G Team! Just nevermind that there are actually 12 players on this list.

Big Ten

I guess it's kinda hard to put of the stats to make the team as a CB when opponents refuse to throw your way.

Counting to 11 has never been the Big Ten's strong suit.

I'll admit I chuckled at that.

Well at least this wasn't the lions, in which case they would only have selected 9 players for the team.

If any conference was going to publish a list that would get penalized for illegal substitution, it was going to be the Big Ten. YOu just know that we're good for things like that.

Fuck Ohio.
December 6th, 2017 at 3:15 AM ^
And more specifically, Nick Bosa.
December 6th, 2017 at 9:01 AM ^
Bosa had twenty some tackles. Winovich and Hurst got screwed. Both of their stats blew Bosa's away. It was between those two and Bosa should not have even been in the conversation. Peppers won it last year so I can't claim bias except maybe they did not want a wolverine two years in a row. The stats don't lie except in the case of hill who nobody throws at. This list will have a lot of M's on it next year. Really hope Winovich comes back. He never gets hurt and his stats are better than anyone's.
Fuck the whole state of ohio. Can't stand those clinging on pieces of shit. Why can't they stay out of our state. Every time I see one of those osu shirts I just want to smash their grill in for them.

Peppers' pick was based on some hype last year, as was Bosa'a this year. Both played very well, but probably weren't the defensive MVP of the conference.

Bosa didn’t win defensive MVP. Just DL of the year.

This is always a strong take. Well said sir.

It's still impressive to me to see Hurst's PFF grade. And awfully nice that his PFF grade gets him "cover boy" status on the chart.
Congratulations to all four Wolverines in the list - a full third of the listed players!

But how can that be when he is only the second best lineman? B1G! SMH.
December 6th, 2017 at 8:15 AM ^
Seeing those scores still understates the value Hurst brings to the defense. It's just plain ludicrous that Bosa was named DPOY. What a joke...

Nice.

thanks Delany

I know the defense will be stacked next year and as long as Don Brown is around I will not worry. That said, every time I saw Hurst completely blow up a play, my first thought was "man, he is going to be hard to replace next year".

Hmmmm, I am not sure why, but I WANT that kid from Northwestern, Kyle Quiero, on my team!
(+1 to those who get it...)
