And Jordan gets a scholarship!

Two guys who have paid their dues. Hail.
August 26th, 2017 at 10:12 PM ^
I like it. Those would have been my choices along with Hurst.
August 26th, 2017 at 10:13 PM ^
I could've seen Hill get the box as well. Many deserving candidates.

Never understood having three, or four, or more named.
Wherever you draw the line, some deserving player will be left out. But multiplying captains smacks of participation trophies; one captain for offense and one for defense is fantastic.
Hail.

being named captain has been the highest honor that he has achieved in football. Congrats to both.

There's like 115 players on a college football roster. I don't see having 3 or 4 captains as really causing any significant dilution. It's certainly not in the same realm as some of the stuff prior regimes did, like naming new captains each week (seemingly just for coin-toss duties) or naming them AFTER the season.

Congrats to both of them!
Interesting no Mo Hurst, but well deserved!

One offense, one defense, and vocal leaders of the team.

If our LB and OL play are stout, this will be a special year. Great men and leaders.

Mason has been a starter for 4 years and McCray has overcome a lot in his career. GO BLUE!!!!
August 26th, 2017 at 10:58 PM ^
Exactly who it should be in my opinion.
August 26th, 2017 at 10:59 PM ^
Terrific.

From what I remember about McCray being recruited. His dad was a captain at OSU. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will let me know.
August 26th, 2017 at 11:35 PM ^
He was also from the same high school as Roy Roundtree.

Went to Trotwood-Madison in Ohio. There are more kids who played for us that went there also. Brandon Moore as well as Reon Dawson. I might have missed one more but these kids worked very hard to get to Michigan and they are very smart young men. I'm just proud of them all and GO BLUE!

Double post sorry my I-phone sucks.
August 27th, 2017 at 10:20 AM ^
was in the same class as Moore and Roundtree.
August 27th, 2017 at 10:45 AM ^
Good call.

2 senior captains, terrific. congrats 52 and 9. Go Blue.

It bodes well that McCray is a co-captain. I believe he will be pretty fun to watch this year (along with the rest of the D)!
GO BLUE!!

Remember that year we didn't have captains until the end of the year

I just reread Endzone, and Gardner's thoughts on that were really interesting to read. Basically said that he knew the season was fucked once leadership became a reward instead of a responsibility.
August 27th, 2017 at 9:35 AM ^
That says something about the players as welll.
August 27th, 2017 at 11:43 AM ^
Great quote.
August 27th, 2017 at 1:06 PM ^
I wonder who came up with that gem of a chronology?
August 27th, 2017 at 1:12 AM ^
No, I am trying to forget that time of Micigan football!

Michigan football
August 27th, 2017 at 1:58 AM ^
Especially since it was awarded by your teammates. Now go out there and lead the team to victory. GO BLUE!!!

Really happy for these two guys. Well deserved.
August 27th, 2017 at 9:20 AM ^
Deserves it! His dad is an OsU alum and he allowed his intelligent son to become a great Michigan man. Now that's a class act! I'm proud of the young man! I can't wait to congratulate them both!

OSU offered Mike. I could be wrong, but I think it was he and Butt that felt slighted and came to Michigan.
August 27th, 2017 at 10:44 AM ^
I could be wrong but I saw him before he left for school and he had his mind made up on going to Michigan and he never wavered. He was happy about the idea of becoming a Wolverine.

Always good to see an OL captain. The spine of the offense. Congrats to both of them... excited to see them lead our guys on Saturday!

Cole is an obvious choice. Best O-line UM has and started every game while he has been at UM.
Happy for McCray. Now I am expecting even more from McCray. Captains gotta step-up!
August 27th, 2017 at 10:31 AM ^
up his game at Columbus and then the Orange Bowl. Look forward to a big season from him and leadership of the whole D.
August 27th, 2017 at 11:44 AM ^
I remember when there were some doubts about him. Late bloomer.
It does happen.
August 27th, 2017 at 12:27 PM ^
Yeah that can cause a late bloomer. Can't bloom with an almost career ending injury. Can you?
August 27th, 2017 at 11:55 AM ^
Exhibited by these two young men. Good choice by their teammates.
Go Blue!!
August 27th, 2017 at 6:00 PM ^
Perfect choice. Now it's time for them to lead the team to a Big Ten title.
