Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Got the full schedule outside of an exhibition against a CIS school and the U-18 team.

  • The Mel Pearson era will begin on the road. October 6th in Canton, New York. Michigan will not play a regular season home game until October 20.
  • Hockey and Football will play on the same day against the same school on both 11/18 and 11/25.
  • Notre Dame joined the B1G as an affiliate member this season. Both series against them are home and homes and Friday/Sunday.
  • The B1G Tournament is now a 3-week, on-campus tournament. While it's great to be on campuses, it has a major flaw. In theory the 2 or 3 seed could lose in the First Round and wind up sitting at home for three weeks until the NCAA Tournament. I liked the original model the league proposed in 2013 of the conference champion hosting a CCHA style final four in one weekend but this is still really good.
  • Michigan has a B1G bye during the final week of the regular season and will face ASU at home for senior weekend as part of the 2-for-1 deal that saw us head to Glendale last year for a game.

I also got this brochure in the mail yesterday. Hockey getting aggressive with their ticket selling.

@St Lawrence / @Clarkson is weird. I'm surprised we're travelling there

Nice to see us finally play BGSU again. They're one of the CCHA schools I long suspected was pissed at us as they've been totally absent from the schedule for years.

The team was almost historically low on talent last season, but the on-ice coaching was considered a flaw as well and it's hard to tell how age plus coaching will upgrade the team.

Long road back, though. I think a tournament berth will be tough to manage; I expect the team to be a .500 type club, maybe a game or two over. My confidence level in this is not super-high, though, and I would love to be pleasantly surprised.

Unfortunate truth: Last season's team was actually had absurdly good luck. They actually won a number of games they shouldn't have. The team could improve significantly on the ice, get some bad bounces, and get results almost no different from last year's team, especially early in the year when everything was going ridiculously right.

Sad to see no Hockey East road game this year. Was always fun to see a strong road fan showing for all of us out by Boston. Might have to make a trip out for one/both of Clarkson/St. Law.

either in Madison or here against OSU!  Any idea if they will time the events so that fans can attend both?  If not their stupid!
