2016 Masters Final Round

Submitted by Mojave Gold on

Winds have died down.  Many more players are under par for today's round.  This should be a good finish.  I'm rooting for Langer as he's an old guy.

I placed a head-to-head bet on Jason Day vs. Jordan for the final round. In his presser, Jordan looked wiped out, mentally and physically. It might not be pretty for him today.

I thought the tournament was Spieth's to lose - and it still is, I suppose - but after the way he finished that last round I'm not so sure. There are a slew of guys that can make some noise and make things a little more interesting before Jordan takes his first shot.

Hoping for no one to choke. Just want to see great golf and let the best man today win. Still vividly remember Jean Van De Velde choking away the Open in 1999 with idiotic decisions under pressure.

anybody else feel like Langer is violating the spirit of the putter rule change? I know he is "not anchoring" but come on man. Ernie Els is basically going through a public humiliation due to the change and it looks to me like Langer has essentially ignored it.

It's legal. There's no "spirit of the rule", if they wanted to get rid of the extra long putters that he uses they would have written it into the anchoring rule.

No. In fact he specifically asked the rules committee (or whomever is responsible for such things) if he was within compliance. He's not trying to skirt the rules. He made an adjustment and then asked if his adjustment was enough and was told yes. He specifically made sure he wasn't violating anything.

Besides Speith there are several good storylines to go along with good players, especially if Rory can make an early birdie rush. Throw in Langer, Day, Matsuyama, Smylie, lots of angles.

I went to do the dishes after Jordan drained his 4th birdie in a row. I was asking myself, "Is this guy really only 22?? He has the composure of a 32" I was thinking to myself its not out of the realm of possiblity that he win 4 or 5 Masters IN A ROW.

I come back and he'd bogey'ed 10 and 11 and I saw begin at 12. Wow. Stunning. Did anyone else go 'Hmm' when Nantz mentioned Willett was the son of a preacher man?

The birdie on 9 may have let the young man relax and lose focus.  Truthfully, he hadn't been hitting his tee shots all that well, it was a matter of time before the law of averages caught up.

I've never seen what happened like what happened on the third (unbelievable) hole-in-one on 16.  If the ball of the first guy had been knocked in by the other dude's ball, what would be the ruling there?
