I'm shocked they put in Marvin Harrison over Terrell Owens given Harrison's off the field problems.

On top of that, Owens has him beat in every category. Just insane.

Kinda surprised to see only Harrison make it as a receiver. I like the HOF process football has a lot better than Baseball, and I think they do a reasonable job not letting too many in...

But with the way the game has evolved, there is a serious receiver issue rising in inductions. It's not going to get any easier to figure out which need to be in, and the record book is getting re-written all the time.

Is Woodson eligible or does he need to wait a few years?

Either way he's a first ballot guy for the College Football HOF coming next year. Can only hope he's inducted on the same field that Michigan may be playing for a national title for.

Sort of surprised on Owens. Always thought Favre was insanely overrated. Desmond was the MVP the only time Favre won. Favre and his pain killer addiction can stay in Mississippi.

Although Brett possessed every asset shared by hall of game qbs as to physical gifts, he played the position with an extreme disregard as to the importance of the possession of the football. All his physical attributes, pretty much unmatched in his first few years in the league were shown then, but his early success lead to, I think, what simply amounts to way to many occassions of doing completely ridiculuous shit where the odds of anything positive happening were probably 98% against. Tossing the ball forward, over the shoulder with your back to the line of scrimmage to avoid a sack and so many other irresponsible decisions from the leader of the offense.  However, I have never read anything that even suggested, let alone could be used as proof that he did not overcome his addiction.

And as another poster stated. addiction to pain killers, certainly not a good thing, is probably prevalent in a sport that is pretty much a guarantee of experiencing a level of pain, on a constant basis, that we will never experience. I understand the reasoning behind taking medication that will bring you relief withinh a matter of minutes. And it was my understanding his addiction was to vicodin, a moderately strong pain medication, at best.  As I already explained, it was also my understanding that he was able to overcome this addiction. And if you don't know that to be untrue you should not write in a manner that makes it seem that you are certain he still suffers from the addiction.

The NFL HOF is simply a popularity contest.  There are many players who should be in, that are not...and many who are in who should never be (Swann, Fouts etc).

TO should have made it, however many sportswriters/voters do not personally like him.

Ken Stabler had some good years and was a winner at times, but his career is not HOF worthy based on his stats.   However, he was "The Snake" and the media loved his personna, so he is in.

to have their busts recognized as individual acts, each separate and recognized as the result of no one's actions other than their own? Let us never forget their busts occupy a special section of the display and all other members of this illustrious group share an unspoken understanding the busts of these individuals are based on utilizing a skill set so rare that at its very core excludes all other members from even understanding, let alone duplicating.

Orlando Pace had a short career due to injury (torn pectorals; torn bicep; torn groin), but he was argubly the best offensive lineman in the NFL for almost a decade. Plus, Pace anchored the O-Line for "The Greatest Show on Turf" and that lead the 1999-2000 St. Louis Rams to the Super Bowl.

Should be in the Hall. He was by far the best RB in the NFL for 5 plus years: he has over 7 100 yard games in the playoffs, tied for the most w Emmit Smith. Took Smith 17 games and TD only 8.

Davis is getting jobbed as he shouldn't have to wait much longer. Won Super Bowls, rushed for 2000 yards, over 60 TD, avg over 145 yards a game rushing in the playoffs. Guy was a monster and his injury shouldn't play against him, hell if Gayle Sayers is in then TD better be in. Sayers can't hold TD's jock. TO was kinda robbed as well.

Good for Kevin Greene though

I will admit it forced me to smile. Actually, recalling Sims, the man was certainly a gifted runner. Barry's success in securing some of the best talent in TX - yes I am fully aware he was fully engaged in SEC like practices - but he certainly had no problem identifying those most worthy of working for him.

As to the best RB to ever wear #20 for the Lions, have you ever been successful in getting anyone to bite into that?
