2015 DL Hjalte Froholdt to stay in Denmark for Jr year

Submitted by Leaders And Best on

2015 Michigan DL target Hjalte Froholdt will have to stay in Denmark for his junior year. He played for Warren (OH) Harding last year and was trying to stay in the USA for high school. He was projected to be a top 5 player in Ohio in 2015, and ESPN had him rated #14 overall in the 2015 class. He is going to try to come back for his senior year.

Probably safe to say he's not going to get the same level of training and dvelopment in Denmark. He's probably good enough such that it won't matter too much (esp since major programs have already taken notice) but still unfortunate for him

According to Rivals, he also holds offers from Arkansas, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Louisville, Indiana and Ohio State. They also list him at 6'5" and 275 pounds. His Hudl page is right here - (LINK) - and this also lists him as seeing some action at tight end.

Also, I will say, Hjalte Froholdt is a great name for a defensive lineman.

For us not in the know- did he move due to family reasons? Couldn't live with family in Ohio?

He's Danish and was a exchange student, he's got to go back due to some law and he needs to do that to reapply for a student Visa for college AFAIK, kinda weird though when he has offers to study I'd think he could use them to stay but I don'k know how that works.

I had a good friend who was a high school exchange student and they come to the US on an F-1 Visa, which is limited to a max 12 months. He has to return home for his junior year but shouldn't have a problem coming back for his senior year and then its a whole different animal for College.
