2015 DE Keisean Lucier-South offered by Michigan!
Adam Gorney @adamgorney 6m
Keisean Lucier-South just told me #Michigan is his "dream school." Wolverines offered today @rivalsmike
Somewhere around August 2013, Michigan angered the recruiting gods and there can no longer be good recruiting news. Only doom.
But seriously...its been like 6 months since there's been legit positive news on the recruiting front for Michigan. Sad times.
This guy does not agree...
That was in May. Its January -- almost eight months later. So like I said, its been a really long time since there's been good recruiting news. Last thing I'd count as good news is Shaun Crawford committing in late August.
What about peppers staying and not taking other officials...that counts as good news right? I think that was sometime in November.
Next time I will type out my meaning. Apparently required.
What seems more likely is that you were wrong and someone gave you an out. It's ok to be wrong.
I mean, srsly.
So you're saying there's been good recruiting news since August? What is it? Our top recruit saying he's going to stay committed? The fact that he even had to say that disqualifies it from being good news.
And even if you want to count it, that's it. That's the entirety of the good recruiting news for five months and counting.
Because you are forgetting about Erik Swenson.
But I really wouldn't count a current commit saying that he's going to stay committed as good news. And if we are counting that as our only good news that should tell you how bad it has been.
I mean if you asked your friend how things were going and he said "it's been good, my wife told me she's not going to sleep around and divorce me" that would cause you to raise an eyebrow, right?
he gets the most commitments before the season starts. There is normally a lull from September through January. The small class sizes for 2014 and 2015 makes it seem more quiet.
So are all these new offers a result of standard operating procedure or the coaches not getting the recruits they wanted this year ie Hand, McDowell possibly?
The 2014 recruits along the D-Line have some impact on 2015 DEs but not a ton. They seemingly had told Jashon Cornell he was the only one getting recruited but that already got scrapped; the logic probably is that they expected a 2014 DE and didn't get one so they'll want a couple in 2015. But I say standard procedure because KLS is a really good prospect and almost definitely would have gotten an offer anyway unless Cornell committed super early and they really did tell him he'd be the only DE in 2015 (which is doubtful).
we need to stop promising players that we won't recruit other players at there position (if we are, in fact, doing that). a good player should invite competition because it will help that player become even better. Iron sharpens iron and all that...
I am really excited for this young man and his family. Wherever he ends up (hopefully in a winged helmet!), I wish the best for him.
Glad the offer was finally made.
i didn't realize we hadn't offered already. i think that WDE is a little deeper in 2015 than 2014 and this kid still is a top 100 prospect. he really could be a cornerstone of the 2015 class if he commits.
I'm curious as to why it has taken so long to offer?!
Jashon Cornell was (and is) priority #1 at WDE, and they weren't sure they were going to take two, what with DaShawn Hand and Malik McDo... aw, hamburgers.
Precede your comment with SPOILER ALERT!!! /s
I certainly hope he commits and then decommits shortly thereafter!
Twitter just in case!
you mean stalk?
Michigan is leading the way in the hot new trend of anorexic recruiting. We get the commits and then spit them back out.
Doesn't that make it bulimic rather than anorexic?
between bulimic and anorexic.
The Michigan Difference.
You're confused. The Michigan difference is being a self aggrandizing wind bag. They're close, though.
Very true. But to be fair, our 2014 and 2015 recruiting classes are going to be a bit...thin.
It would make him neither we would be considered someone with a chew and spit eating disorder which is its own disorder all together completely different from the other two major eating disorders
Well shit, I want him to swallow us !
Then can we yell at him, and call him names?
Well that's good news.
Does he have a family member that played for Michigan? I noticed he is from California and to have Michigan as his dream school is pretty cool. Also, I don't really know much about him, but I like the pass rushing ability from his highlights. I would love for MIchigan to finally get some players who can put consistent pressure on the other teams quarterback. It has been far too long.
I just want a pass rush..... sometime in the near future.
I have no faith in the decision making ability of a 16 year old anymore.
Personally I was a great decision maker at 16. Except for that one time, oh and that other time, and that other other time...
drifting and wiped out into a neighbors yard. Or dated my high school girlfriend. Or thought wearing saggy jeans was cool. Man, high school was a weird time.
to think I was indecisive. Now, I'm not so sure.
most of this class arent really that young. look at some of the 247 pages it reports an age. Ricky town is reportedly a 17 yr 7month old. when i was that age I was a month away from having a high school diploma not finishing up my sophomore year of high school
Ricky Towns is a junior
Yeah, that's on the older side but not that old. I knew a lot of kids who turned 19 over the summer between HS and college, and that's what he'll do. I have a son who has a summer birthday like that and we're deciding whether to start him at 5 or 6.
In addition to Michigan's offer, he's already got offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, California, Colorado, Miami (YTM), Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, TCU, Texas, Tennessee, UCLA, USC, Vanderbilt and Washington. Not a bad list overall really.
Hopefully South goes north.
Glad to see this. I know he's been waiting for this a long time. Michigan needs to change the talk out there at this point also. I think with Hoke and Nuss it will improve but losing recruits even if they may come back has to hurt.
Hopefully not west...
Unless he plans on taking the long way?
At least he gets here eventually. If he goes North he never will.
unless he is choosing Hawai'i or the BYU campus out there, which both would be great choices for weather and fun not so much football success
Man, imagine what the 2015 class could have been if Harris and Campbell stuck around. Oh well.
Hopefully, things gets turned around in 2014 and this guy doesn't get scared off as well.
who knows, maybe we'll see...
Damaged cause Damien Harris was a lifelong fan too.
Would love too see us pull in KLS. I still believe that Damien Harris will be apart of this class. I woudn't hold my breath regarding Campell though.
Disclaimer: I have no inside info to back this up, just my opinion.
Mean totally different things in this instance. I'm not typically grammar nazi (because I suck at spelling and make many typos myself, and you also would have used "from" instead of "of"), I just found that funny in this case.
Gonna have to fight the instate schools but I'm gonna say he'll be our first commit from Cali since Magnuson
Let's just hope this doesn't mean the coaches feel we won't land McDowell. I know they are different classes, but...
Different classes and different positions as well - WDE vs SDE/3 Tech.
This has so many awesome outfits and action to it. Mind blown.
I hope all the kids that love Michigan and receive an offer will commit. However, I'm done worrying about it. It's the coach's job to improve the kids that play for us.
Good luck young Lucier-South. If Michigan is your dream school, I hope your dreams come true.
Nice! I'll always welcome a LuHigh Lancer to UM. They play in an extremely competitive league too which is definitely a plus.
Very excited about the prospect of him playing for us. But prior reports indicated his inclination is to not announce his decision until his National Signing Day in 2015. That's a looooong time from now.
Although who knows? If a kid is highly touted and rock-solid on a school, you'd think he'd want to announce early in the hopes of reeling in other top tier talent in his class.
who early in the process say they will announce on signing day is at least 10x the number who do.
And by that, I mean I approve.
Damien says we're still his # 1. I'm not sure how you can write him off.
Uhhhh Ruff Ryders
Drop, shut em down open up shop, ohhhh no, that's how ruff ryderz roll
does steve lorenze follow recruits' moms' on twitter?
That depends, are you a recruit?
Even if he does commit here, I'm not convinced we have the coaches to develop him. I will duck now.....
Let's get this kid to visit a night game at the BIG HOUSE and he commit.
about damn time.
If you build it, he will come. I will always believe in this coaching staff to make progress and get us back to where we belong. A very good year in 2014 could mean
I'm staying positive!
Wouldn't get the Cambell goes up! Even Sam Webb says so.
...just dated myself.
all this kids say a school is a dream school and publicly campaign for an offer but when they get it they don't commit on the spot. if I got an offer for my dream job I'm taking it on the spot.
It should be - he's a beast!
I wish we had offered him a lot earlier. But if Michigan really is his dream school, hopefully it won't make a difference. It seems like if we do end up missing out on McDowell and we sign no one else this class other than maybe a RB, we'd have room for both Cornell and Lucier-South in 2015.
We need talent and depth on the DLine to match our OL. I love guys who have dreamed about playing in the winged helmet for years upon years. C'mon up to Ann Arbor and see what all the buzz is about!
I have a very positive overall feeling about '15 recruiting. I just have this feeling. I think we're gonna get Cornell, I think we're gonna get Kirksey, I think we're gonna get another Tom Brady Jr QB from Cali. I think Harris is going to come back. I think others will follow and build another special class.
While I love elite players like Peppers I also have warm regard for those guys who blossom into monsters on the field in complete denial of their HS "star status". We're going to find some of those diamonds...it will happen.
Kids a specimen and grew up a blue fan.
