2015 CB Nate Dalton no longer visitng this weekend

Submitted by ypsituckyboy on

Per his Twitters, he said he made the decision not to visit. Sounds odd that a guy with offers from Kentucky, Liberty, and Arkansas would cancel, especially since I think Harbaugh made an in-home visit last night IIRC. It may be the UM homer in me, but seems more like a "I broke up with her, she didn't break up with me" situation due to a change in circumstances.

i'm torn on this.  i feel like the iman's visit went about as well as possible, but i can't see a situation where he doesn't end up at USC.  his commitment would definitely be worth waiting for, and we could always bank scholarships come NSD if our top targets go elsewhere (clark, marshall, not sure who else is deciding then).  i would just hope they didn't tell a high ceiling player like dalton not to visit when iman's almost certainly not coming and they want 2 CB in the class

I'm sure he has a better handle on the situation than you do. They could very well have told him he's not at the top of the list. Everyone is saying Iman isn't coming because the "authorities" say he is going to USC. These would be some of the same people who said Harbaugh would never come to Michigan.

It's also possible, with Liberty being in his top schools that he thinks there are higher priorities than football.

In the end, trust Harbaugh.

and I never really fully grasped why he was offered, but in Harbaugh I trusted.  Maybe there was interest but the offer was contingent upon missing out on X-Y-Z.  Hard to say in this day and age.  Good luck to the kid.

Harbaugh had an in home with him so we must be interested...unless he said that he's down the recruiting board and we need some guys decisions before we move on to him.

He just wanted to go to other schools.  I think that is OK too.

For all we know Harbaugh laid out some "conditions" that the kid didn't want to meet, or his GF is going to Liberty, or... a million other non-football possibilities.

Assuming this means anything about other recruits is dubious at best.

He is a Cypress Texas kid. It's possible that Harbaugh wasn't all that interested in Dalton per se but wants to open the talent spigot in that football-rich area. In which instance Jimmy's simply working the pipeline.

I am pessissmistic that this news relates to Iman's situation.  I have no more info than anyone else in this thread, but I'm not taking the leap of faith that Dalton's quick decision means anything positive relative to another DB. Maybe the kid just doesn't want to play at Michigan.
