2015 adidas gear: no more highlighter Maize?
So, the 2015 gear is starting to trickle out on MDen.
Kind of interesting that adidas is changing over to the Nike Maize color, it appears. But then you have other new gear that isn't original Maize.
As for most of the gear designs: oy. I hope it gets better this fall.
The Harbaugh shirt isn't up for sale on the site yet, but when it is, the credit card comes out. Also not up yet is that pair of shorts in this photo-

What's the point dude...

Minus the polo and jacket, I hate all of it. The only good Bo style M caps are the New Era ones in my opinion.
I seriously wonder sometimes what the fuck Adidas is doing and how incompetent are the people they have running the M brand. Outside of sideline polos and longsleeve polos/jackets, I think they've failed miserably.

have really good golf stuff. That is about the extent of their successful endeavors in my opinion. Don't play soccer, so can't comment. But their football and basketball stuff have been an unmitigated disaster.

Is it really that hard to make a block M? The bo hats were the best, though the M was pretty small. Still have mine from college in the closet (dusty).

We have never had an orange shade.
A recent video of Durkin shows him in front of Tom Harmon's 1940 helmet and jersey. Durkin is wearing the current "maize", and of course Harmon's jersey numbers and helmet stripes are in 1940's maize..
Guess what? they are not all that different. Today's is a little brighter, but it's pretty much the same tint. It has never been bright yellow versus orangy-gold.
We have never had Navy's/Cal's/WVU's colors, and never will.

Except the hat. The rest looks like it would belong at the clearance bin at Big Lots. I don't know if they even sell clothes, but it they did, these items would be there.

I bought official NFL St. Louis Stallions hats there after the franchise was awarded to Jacksonville.

I remember being approximately 9 and going to the local sports shop to get a coat with my mom. If some of you remember, the Starter pullovers were popupar at the time. The guy tried to talk me into getting a Jags or Panthers coat becasue these would be new NFL teams and would be popular...
I distinctly remember telling him that I was not interested and wanted the Michigan Starter jacket that looked something like this:
It was my first piece of Michigan apparel that I remember.
The items above are much uglier than that coat.
LOL oh, memories. At my school you needed to have a new team or a team that had recently switched to "cool" colors (which in 1992 meant teal or purple or something else that was not just primary colors) on your Starter coat, and you were extremely uncool if you sported a team that someone else at school already had. Maybe 5% of people had any allegiance to the team on their Starter. Recess was a sea of Marlins, Jaguars, Hornets, Rockies, Magic, Lightning, T-Wolves, Bucks, et al. I myself rocked the Sharks (ugh, I know), which earned me a lot of grief the very, very few times I wore it after the 1994 Stanley Cup Playoffs hahah...
I also had a Sharks and Hornets one. Later on I got a Carolina Panthers coat. At least the Panthers made it to the NFC title game that year and I was a big Kevin Greene fan.

There are two things that are guaranteed in life:
1) Taxes
2) MGoBloggers complaining about the latest gear (unless Harbaugh is repping it)
March 27th, 2015 at 11:55 AM ^
3) WD buying a minimum of three pieces of Michigan merch per month
I regret that I only have one neg to give because I'm feeling like throwing a couple more on you.
This gear is all us plebes have. Addidas has made us look like asshats for years. Do they honestly think that people will stop buying relatively simple and tasteful gear? Must we have shit sprayed all over it before we buy it?
Samey-same: the uniforms are all we get. Players change. Coaches change. Attendance patterns of the student section change. Red Hot Lovers gets demolished. RDT get exposed. SOMETHING - LIKE UNIFORMS - SHOULD BE CONSISTENT THROUGH THE YEARS!
You can buy Michigan apparel that isn't made by Adidas. They're the official supplier but there are plenty others.

except the white pull-over is okay. When the hell are we done with Adidas? Just awful...thank god for the MGoStore....

That is just smart business
It would have been smarter to have their version of the hat as soon as they got the contract, instead of forcing the block M versions on everyone and allowing New Era to keep that look to themselves.

I'd up vote you 100 times, if I could. That is exactly my belief about socks. Plain socks are just, well, plain...and boring.
March 27th, 2015 at 12:16 PM ^
Argyle socks are actually better to wear than plain socks. I hate wearing plain socks and never wear white anymore.

My god all the shit they make is ugly. The only thing i'd even think about wearing would be that White half-zip pullover. WTF is up with those shorts? Why is there grey on them at the top. I know a lot on here complain about the jerseys, but i think the "fan wear" that they've put out for years now is ugly as hell. And even the things they make for the coaching staff looks terrible.
March 27th, 2015 at 12:09 PM ^
I like the white jacket and the socks, that's about it. I like the darker maize, but ... the design leaves much to be desired.

That's an ugly chipmunk mascot.
March 27th, 2015 at 12:13 PM ^
The navy polo is a'ight if I wanted to wear a polyester polo (which I don't), and the Bo hat is good (though the New Era version has a blockier M). The white pullover is tasteful even though it's not my style. Everything else is stinky.
March 27th, 2015 at 12:14 PM ^
Damn. That white pullover is sweet. It's also likely $85+, which is ridiculous. I'm going to wait to buy gear until I know whether or not Nike is coming back.

Get someone other than Adidas to make it.
1. On the skinny M hat....remove the M on the back and the logo on the side and put a maize weed leaf logo on the back signifying that it's the old school hat.
Something like this?

I have learned a valuable lesson: Everyone has their own interpretation of what maize is.

I like the polo, the block M cap, and kinda the white pullover. The rest of these can, and should, be set on fire.

they can't buy the kind of analysis of what the customers want and don't want that they find on this site. And I'm pretty sure they figured out that WD will buy whatever they make! Just kidding, WD is one of my favs on here!
