2015 4* RB Jordan Stevenson in contact with Michigan after denied entry by WI
This is a pretty odd story given our very high perception of the academic admission standards at Michigan, but hey, I'd take a highly prized RB that is also visiting Nebraska, Miami and Alabama

How many times have they done this in the last few years? Enough to drive away a great coach from a great school and a great program apparently
If I was Alvarez, I'd be screaming for the football program and the admissions department to figure out the apparent chasm between them
Given that this is not the first time something like this has happened at Wisconsin, why in the world does Wisconsin not have someone within the AD's office or football program dedicated to communicating with players to ensure this sort of thing doesn't happen?
WI has lost multiple players the last few years due to this and I think are going to be 2nd in the conference in terms of what is required after Northwestern. Also a cited reason for Andersen leaving and an uncited reason Big Bert left before him. I know STAEE picked up a kid who couldnt get into WI 2 years ago (Craig Evans) - who ironically is apparently having academic problems at Staee as well.
Impossible to think that players could have academic problems at STAEE when Dantonio tells recruits they don't have to attend classes.
turn the in the work the smart kid did for you.
I'm sure the grammar was a phone autocorrect error...but damn that was ironic.
Maybe I was too subtle.
I'd definitely take him but I'm not sure that it would look good for us to take someone denied by another big ten school but it could be non academic related.
Someone explained above that it had more to do with what counts as a required credit vs. what counts as an elective. Of course, that's if you trust a random blog poster.

Can Michigan fit him in if he wants to come here and he gets thru Admissions? Sounds like a low center of gravity inside runner though. Can always use a guy who can get first downs.
Please let this happen. We really need some more good RBs.
Would he be eligible this season? I say come on down. We have absolutely no hierarchy at RB in my mind right now. One more name in the pool could make a real difference.
Yes I think so because he never enrolled at Wisconsin. I think he's supposed to get his release from Wisconsin on Friday if I'm not mistaken.

Someone told me (admittedly a GVSU student) that GVSU's acceptance rate was lower than MSU's but a quick googling says MSU is at 66% and GVSU at 82% so that isn't right.
I suspect GVSU found a metric where they appear more selective than MSU and really lean on that
and private schools like Kalamazoo College.
Yeah, I'm from west of GR and a lot of kid who wanted to stay closer to home picked GVSU over MSU and some other state schools. It's a respectable school, but State is still better
As an aside, a PSA for the stargazers out there... Josh Metullus got his 4th star from ESPN.
ESPN's recruiting site is the laziest by far. But, they do get the most TV time so their rankings do seem to reverberate more than others. I personally just go look at the 247 composite, but it's interesting to see the splits.
Thats pretty much how ESPN handles everything. It's the only reason why First Take is still on the air.

I assume Rivals has not updated their rankings yet.
Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth I attended an accredited Michigan high school. I took classes appropriate for someone who planned to go to college. When I graduated I met all the various requirements to get into every college to which I applied (including three ivies). I was accepted to every school I applied to, but since Michigan was in the top three of anything I was interested in studying it was a financial no brainer once I was accepted there.
What the hell has happened to our high schools that a student with the intention of attending college can graduate with solid grades and not meet the minimum requirements to go anywhere? Seriously, what's going on? Wisconsin is a good school and all, but it is still a state institution. Something is broken.
. . . added food coloring to his cheese.

I like Stevenson's game, but if we took him (and I doubt we will), we would certainly have a lot of scholarships tied up in the offensive backfield. We have all the running backs currently on the roster (zero of whom are seniors), three guys committed for 2016, a bunch of quarterbacks on the roster, and two more quarterbacks coming in 2016.

I'm not sure what you mean.
I'm saying I doubt he ends up at Michigan.

need him anyway, but I'd guess that there will be some attrition at RB this Fall.....
Not sure how he could qualify here if he didnt get into wisconsin.
