I chatted with the Giants' DB coach in the security line at LaGuardia a couple weeks ago, and when he told me who he was, the first thing out of my mouth was "How's Stevie doing?"  (Stevie Brown was on IR last year after breaking out the year before.)  He said he's doing well, and when I identified myself as a Michigan fan, he said, "We had Ryan Mundy, too!"  When i mentioned that Mundy didn't actually graduate from Michigan, he smiled and said, "Yeah, Stevie never lets him forget that!"

Interesting that they brought in Gordon.  The coach (whose name is David Merritt, no relation to our basketball player as far as I know) played at NC State and in the NFL, but doesn't seem to have a connection to Michigan.  But apparently they have faith in our DBs.

PS to Lions fans: He was on his way to NC to do some scouting back home, so I'm wondering if one of the targets was your new tight end.  I read somewhere that the Giants had him high on their board, so maybe that's why the Lions took him so early.  If it makes you feel better to know he was wanted by others.

His ejection from the game this year is one of my favorite recent memories in Michigan sports- thank you Mr. Hall for cementing yourself in Michigan football infamy

I do not know what to make of it.  Was the defense not that good, was it all because of Darquez, or Narduzzi is a genious?

Ironically, the much maligned UM OL had two early selections.

It seems like the distribution of defense was very, very high in this draft. As late as the fourth round, it seemed like more than half od the cumulative picks to that point were defensive players.

From the look of things, the bulk of MSU's defensive prospects are going as UFAs. At least from what we've seen so far, and someone has some semi-current data posted above, Tyler Hoover was signed by Indianapolis and Micajah Reynolds was signed by New England. Max Bullough was signed by Houston, which  I believe is mentioned above.

Bullough dropped like 15+ pounds between the end of the season and combine. Losing that much weight over 6 weeks sounds an awful lot like steroids, and NFL teams would shy away from that. I am also dumbfounded by the lack of draft picks for MSU, but at least it won't help them with recruiting. Top defense in the country graduated a bunch of starters and only 1 gets drafted. I thought Allen would get drafted, or their safety (Lewis?).

Steroids make u lose 15 little lbs in 6 weeks.   I bet u have never worked out a day in your life.   This is why steroids get a bad name people are so misinformed about things now adays .Please in the future don't speculate on things you have no idea what you are talking about.  You can lose 15lbs in a day if you wanted granted almost all will be water but you can...   Steroids usually make you gain weight...   So by your logic Nik and Caris were on steroids last summer while at Michigan?  Didn't think so..   I am not a sparty fan hate them but will not let someone blame someone's hard work or stuff on steroids.

But I was under the impression that if you took steroids and worked out, you would gain muscle mass and thus weight. But if you stopped taking steroids and even if you still worked out, you would lose that steroid induced muscle mass rather quickly, thus losing 15 lbs in 6 weeks. I have never been around steroids so this could be way off.

It depends on the steroid...  There are some that cause quick gain and some is water weight and others are slow which means more quality muscle it is a possibility someone could do that but that if he wants some quick mass for power and say 6weeks later wanted to run his 40...   But you increase your chances of testing positive for PEDs...   To me I don't care if football players are on it the pain and punishment they go through most of the players we love to watch play would be injured all the time and steroids are actually pretty Safe if not over done. Most steroids are made for people with wasting diseases aids, cancer and whole bunch others it is just like taking 80 asprin at once not food for you but 2 ,3 a day u r fine.  These supplements you see at gnc are the real dangerous ones not all but the ones that have one study done on it and u can put it in a supplement where as steroids have been around since the 30s and new ones are all like 20 years old with studies done on them by major universities.  I could write all say about the benifits and side effects of everything we take everyday most food we eat that is processed has small traces of cancer causing ingredients.  Soy is made from petroleum fuel byproducts and only if u buy 100% organic are you assured there is nothing in it like that but then look at how much you get charged and most Americans can't afford to pay to eat that way...   Sorry I am rambling but these PEDs aren't evil and no way should they be made a priority by congress over much more urgent problems.

Sorry I am not a professional writer but I do pretty dam good for having dyslexia....     I just know about the that because I am a beliver in anti aging and HGH and some forms of steroids or testosterone give many a better quality of life.   Why would big companies who make money off us being sick want us to have something that makes us healthy and not be dependent on their drugs?    Money it is all about money....    and I am a PA also...

I agree if you were talking about me I have always had a hard time getting my thoughts out on paper like that.   If if was something important for school or for my doctors offfice I do take the time to proof read and make sure it all makes sense.    Guess my ADD meds werent working well that day.

I'm not trying to defend him, I was helping to answer the question of how MSU's defense was so good if only one player got drafted.  If good players do stupid stuff to hurt their NFL stock, that's part of the answer.

Also, they have 3 potential first round picks for the 2015 NFL draft on their team.
