2014 Final Four Open Thread
Connecticut vs. Florida
followed by
Kentucky vs. Wisconsin
Uconn would make for a much more interesting title game. Hope they don't blow this.
Gators down to one timeout.
Please.... no SEC teams in final.
What a coaching job by Kevin Ollie. Scary thing for everyone else as other than Napier everyone else comes back. They could be right back here next year.
They lost by 33 to Louisville a month ago. Not a superpower team, got hot at right time and Napier is their best player... not a minor loss.
Agreed on this year though and coaching job.
Calhoun is such a louse, but Ollie seems so likeable.
I always liked Calhoun.
not first hand, but very strong second hand.
But not first hand, so I could be wrong, but I don't think so.
Not a minor losee, but they have guys like Brimah who could take a huge step as a sophmore. He could be a dominant presense on the defensive end. Hard to believe for a team that was banned from post season play last year.
Giffey (sp?) did the same thing to MSU last week.
this was a tournament with no great teams - definitely there for the taking. With that said, I thought we played at a very high level in our game against Kentucky and we still came up just short.
As has been said, we went down swinging.
Geez. Good chance UConn wins Men's and Women's Championship.
Wilbekin 2-8, 1 assist, 3 TOs, and 4 fouls. Overrated as were the Gators and the week SEC and their week bracket.
these assholes are still making excuses for Sparty.
NEWSFLASH: they had flaws that never got resolved. That's why they lost.
Four Elite 8s in a row for UF and not one single final game to show for it. So difficult to take that last step.
even though UConn deserved that game going away.
But Young seems like a really good guy and his effort deserves nothing but praise.
Agreed
Napier with 12 points on 6 shot attempts along with 6 assists, 4 steals, and only 2 TOs.
Scottie Wilbekin is getting his Aaron Craft on with his shots in this game.
On Wisconsin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing UConn almost lost in their first game of the tourney.
I fear UK is going to win it all and Calipari is going to only strengthen that stupid business model. GO WISCY.
There's no justice in the world, so I fully expect Kentucky to wax Wiscy and then to beat UConn.
Look on the bright side—there's an excellent chance that eventually Kentucky's wins will be vacated, and Calipari will skate off to his next job.
I can recall my own personal meltdown during that game very well.
What's with having a Gator homer, Mark Wise calling the game? Bullshit!
Man. Who in hell could have predicted UConn to the Final. Crazy to me.
Not sure what to think of this next game. I haven't thought about Basketball much this week other than "What ifs" so I haven't contemplated who I've got winning this one. But now that I have a bit, I just can't see Wisconsin losing this one. Unless they play flat out terrible and get outplayed by the talent in blue and white, I just can't see them not advancing.
I feel for Wilbeken, but he was hurt all tournament.
Freaking Gumbel, it's the first thing out of his mouth.
Enough with the excuses, though - they got beat.
Napier, Boatright, and Daniels were awesome. That's what hurt Florida.
sounds like he's going to explode a vocal chord. He's struggling here.
OT and not really needing of a thread, but someone left Roses at the feet of the Bo statue.
Teared up taking this photo. Really great.
statue unveiling also. It would be awesome if someone made sure there were always roses at his feet or they should plant roses nearby.
and hate that he exists.
already?
Well, after their pre-game intro, I now hate them twice as much.
This should be Michigan's moment tonight, not Kentucky's.
Traevon Jackson continues to think he is Trey Burke....is still not Trey Burke
Officials letting UK mug everyone in the lane. How shocking.
Convienently omits the fact that they lost in the first round of the NIT last year.
Unreal.
Ball don't lie.
Blocking? Cumong!
