2014 BCS National Championship Open Thread

Submitted by MGoGrendel on

Last one, heald in the Grand Daddy of them all!

Florida State is favored by 13 on a neutral field, by some ESPN bottom line metric.  Will Jameis Winston with the Heisman and MNC and end the SEC's run of 6 straight?

Auburn is the self-proclaimed team of destiny.  Will they have one more miracle tonight?

Line: FSU - 10.5

Over/Under: 67.5

SLIGHT MOD EDIT - Not really OT for our purposes. We'll make this the open thread. - LSA

I literally had to mute the TV because I can't listen to this dumb fuck Musberger anymore. It also doesn't help that they show Malzahn after almost every Auburn offensive play.

We'll find out NEXT year how great Malzahn is?  He took a team that was 3-9 last season and has them winning at halftime of the national championship game.  He's already established he's pretty great.

And stop trying to compare him to Hoke.  their experiences as coordinators are not the same.  Hoke has never been an offensive or defensive coordinator.

You are all right.  It is really outstanding!  I can't turn the channel now that I switched.  The only kink is Millen on the set, but outside of that incredible.

It's all about the front 7 especially the DL. Every single SEC team in the championship has among the best DL in the country that can consistently blow up plays.

man UM has got to get the DL going. Watch these teams dominate the LOS its like UM is light years away....

Sure they are doing press coverage but the DL for Aub was/is blowing these plays up..very few "coverage" sacks or hurries against FSU.

Meanwile UM. Hopefully Taco and Henry can make a leap next season. Pipkins was just a guy with weight issues before the knee injury. I think it takes him a full season to recover and even potentially be good.

If FSU can open with a TD to start the 2nd half, that will change everything.  This is by far the most critical point in the game for them.  The defense will be charged up and you will probably see Auburn start to struggle.  On the other side a stop out of the gate and I would bet that Auburn will have all the energy and will immediately score to go up 28-10 (Game Over).
