2014 BCS National Championship Open Thread

Last one, heald in the Grand Daddy of them all!

Florida State is favored by 13 on a neutral field, by some ESPN bottom line metric.  Will Jameis Winston with the Heisman and MNC and end the SEC's run of 6 straight?

Auburn is the self-proclaimed team of destiny.  Will they have one more miracle tonight?

Line: FSU - 10.5

Over/Under: 67.5

SLIGHT MOD EDIT - Not really OT for our purposes. We'll make this the open thread. - LSA

Great drive . Love listening to Sumlin, good to hear coaches view on how TV timeouts ruin momentum. Price paid for the mega TV deals- commercials after every play and higher cable bills..

In some ways it's better it occured on the try rather than the kickoff. They have a great return man who won't have that extra yardarge to work with to run back for a huge ST TD.

Need to stop them again but this is at least now a game. Keep pushing FSU and unseat this conference from their stranglehold over this sport.

You can almost always tell which team is the losing team by those types of mistakes.  Can't have penalties like that at the wrong time.  One team has their head in the game and FSU is letting their emotion get in the way.

All the breaks are going Auburn's way.

No replay of the critical unsportsmanlike call.

And all of the other replays never run to completion any more.  They keep getting cut off by fancy graphics.  It's really annoying.  I've noticed it throughout the bowl season.

That was a ridiculous call by the ref.  He inserted himself in the outcome of the game.  I often wonder if those guys are on the take when I see calls like that.  Just crazy!  Start checking bank accounts.

The ref was looking for something to call there.  Just staring down the player.

But now a part of me wants them to lose just because that idiot talking trash. I hate when kids hurt their teams with selfishness. That said...they still should have gone for it.

They did do the unsportsmanlike replay.  After the commercial.

Was it a case of Vincent Smith finger-guns?!?  You gotta be careful with finger guns.  A powerful force, for good or evil.

Oh thanks. That is pretty bad in my opinion. Biggest game of your career and you have to sit out because you're that out of shape? What do I know though, at least he is out there playing.

And trust me...In both the UCF and Oklahoma games they threw flags for throat slashing when guys did the superman move after scoring touchdowns. I ripped the refs for being out of touch and being ridiculous in not seeing that the guys hands weren't CLOSE to their neck let alone making a throat slashing motion. In this instance a guy took both hands and made a shotgun and shot off at the bench. That's a flag.
