2014 BCS National Championship Open Thread
Last one, heald in the Grand Daddy of them all!
Florida State is favored by 13 on a neutral field, by some ESPN bottom line metric. Will Jameis Winston with the Heisman and MNC and end the SEC's run of 6 straight?
Auburn is the self-proclaimed team of destiny. Will they have one more miracle tonight?
Line: FSU - 10.5
Over/Under: 67.5

SLIGHT MOD EDIT - Not really OT for our purposes. We'll make this the open thread. - LSA

Man Frost is everywhere. I wish Michigan could have gotten him on defense. You add Frost on defense and Watkins on offense, who both were Michigan heavy leans at one point, and that makes a huge difference. I'm not saying I don't like our team now, but wishful thinking. If I could have a guy on both sides of the ball who were very realistic, I would take them.

Timmy Jernigan took an official to Michigan too.

We could also have landed Gunner Kiel.

I really think FSU needs to score here, just to balance the momentum.

They doing an immediate rewind of the plays and breaking them down live as well on the Megacast. Outstanding!

That was an insane grab. Who is that receiver? He has had a few nice catches tonight and he has great size.

Man I wonder where he is projected in the draft? I just googled him and the first thing I saw was comparisons to Calvin Johnson. My first thought when I saw that grab was the Lions need to try and grab him if they can.
Edit: I guess I am assuming he will enter the draft/he can which I am not really sure of.

Hopefully Harris can fill that role. Though Funchess is actually a pretty good big man on the outside.
January 7th, 2014 at 4:49 AM ^
I've been telling people all year down here that Devin Funchess is our Kelvin Benjamin.

If FSU scores here they seize the momentum.
January 6th, 2014 at 10:50 PM ^
Winston is feeling the heat and everytime they blitz he can't complete the pass.
January 6th, 2014 at 10:50 PM ^
Kris Frost man.

Auburn goin all Sparty double a gap blitz
January 6th, 2014 at 10:51 PM ^
FSU finally puts some more points on the board. 21-13 Auburn lead right now. FSU needs a stop and a touchdown.

Who else is in the megacast all I saw was Sumlin?
January 6th, 2014 at 10:54 PM ^
And our pals Millen and Spielman.
January 6th, 2014 at 10:57 PM ^
Oh, very cool. Thanks.

That was a game changing play if FSU recovered.

The two short TD drives helps.
January 6th, 2014 at 10:56 PM ^
I'm glad ESPN did this Megacast stuff. Hopefully we see this next year for the playoffs.
January 6th, 2014 at 10:58 PM ^
However, I don't get ESPN Classic and that's the one I really wanted to watch...the game sounds.
Anyone have that? Sounds pretty cool for a series or two.
It would be fun for Michigan to play in a game like this, I'd set the DVR to multiple channels and it would make rewatching the game even more fun.

Nick Marshall isn't going pro, lol.
He's great for his system. But unless Malzahn is going pro and is willing to draft him, he's not an NFL QB, even in the read-option NFL offense.

I'm intrigued...I'll wait for some feedback and reviews, but it looks like it could be solid IMO.

FSU blew that with the drop and the missed horse collar tackle.
These refs aren't calling a damn thing...
January 6th, 2014 at 10:58 PM ^
Just like a film session. What a smart innovation in the broadcast. They are talking about the energy picking up on the FSU sideline and how you can feel it as a player. Starts building. Let's see if FSU can get this going.
January 6th, 2014 at 11:00 PM ^
Sumlin talking about the TV timeout coming at the wrong time as momentum has changed to FSU. Comment was how it is a killer to the momentum due to the long timeout.
January 6th, 2014 at 10:59 PM ^
January 6th, 2014 at 11:01 PM ^
I often wonder this. The only way I can see it is if the QB needs a play off for some reason.
January 6th, 2014 at 11:00 PM ^
TV timeouts.
January 6th, 2014 at 11:01 PM ^
Momentum killer at absolutely wrong time. Said it before that series ever started.
January 6th, 2014 at 11:02 PM ^
Boston College has ever been on TV.
January 6th, 2014 at 11:02 PM ^
Auburn...3 times where they should turn the ball over and recover!
January 6th, 2014 at 11:02 PM ^
What did he say?
January 6th, 2014 at 11:00 PM ^
Whoever said Benjamin is their Braylon, spot on from what I've heard.
January 6th, 2014 at 11:00 PM ^
complete with the drops.
January 6th, 2014 at 11:01 PM ^
If Auburn scores on this next possession, FSU is in real big trouble. It might be lights-out.
January 6th, 2014 at 11:02 PM ^
It's crazy how lucky Auburn is, so fucking lucky.
January 6th, 2014 at 11:02 PM ^
Dang it FSU needs to get one of those.
January 6th, 2014 at 11:02 PM ^
All the breaks going Auburn's way. 3 straight muffs and they get it back every time.
