2013 OT J J Gustafson (Dallas, TX) Offered

Submitted by Bluestreak on

2013 OL J J Gustafson (Dallas, TX) is reporting a Michigan offer. He is a team mate of WR Jake Oliver at Jesuit HS.

He stands at 6'6" and weighs in at 265 (but has a frame to build on)

He is ranked a 3 star prospect and sports offers from Oklahoma, Clemson and a couple of Texas schools. Seems to favor Texas A&M early.

Even though he is rated 3 star - he may end up higher later in the year.

Michigan knows they won't get him out of the Southwest, but they want to stay in the good graces of a high school that produces a great amount of division 1 talent. This is how you get top flight talent. Love the move. If you get the kid, great, if not, at least you got some glad handing done at a football hot bed. Kudos to the Michigan director of scouting in the southwest.

Schools with great traditions of winning usually respect the qualities in other programs. I respect Alabama and most of their fans, I just don't like Nick Saban. If he where coaching Michigan i'm sure folks would make excuses for him here also.

I can't wait for The game in Jerryworld! if we win it's a program changer, if we keep it close it will be like the Fab 5's first game against Duke. If we get blown out it's a back to the drawing board moment. The win would bring instant respect from everyone even the biggest doubters. We got more to win and more to lose in that game, i hop we're 110% ready to play 4 quarters.

Alabama is losing a lot of their starters, with 9 of their players good enough to be invited to the combine.  1st game of the year, they wont be expecting D-Robs speed.

This is what I tell myself to make me think we're going to smoke them, even though when they lose one 5* player, they have 2 more sitting behind him.  I hope we win, but Alabama has such a ridiculous amount of talent.

Big upside but comes from an Aggie family (both parents and grandfather I think). I saw something on an A&M board about him coming to Aggie games since he was 2.

265 lbs is about where Lewan showed up when he got on campus, and Gustafson still has 17 months before he steps foot on our campus if he were to sign.  If he gained a half pound a week, he'd be 300 pounds by the time he stepped foot on campus.

Gaining a half a pound a week would be a really, really tough thing to do. Don't count on him gaining any weight during the season and during summer practices. Not trying to be snarky or dickish, but half pound per week for 17 months is ridiculous to ask.
