2013 Michigan/Notre Dame (football) on BTN

The game that gave us all so much hope for the season. Gardner played a perfect game minus one play...our OL stood up vs. ND's great DL. The best game Michigan has played (against a decent opponent) in 2 years.

I am pretty sure that no one will ever forget Gallon's performance in this game anytime soon. He was responsible for 184 of the 294 yards of receiving for Michigan that evening, and it came on 8 receptions and resulted in 3 touchdowns. Awesome game for one of the newest New England Patriots. As I recall, the other two TDs came courtesy of Gardner and Dileo.

The OSU game was the OOONE game that I was going to put an asterisk next to. We played pretty damn well during that game.

If I had to break it down, the one thing I'd say about the OSU game...for whatever reason we'd gone to that weird sub pattern on defense and we had guys like Furman playing WAAAY too much and giving up WAAAY too much.

To this day I don't know why we didn't roll with Gordon and Wilson for those last few games, but we wanted to put Avery and Furman back there and it was a disaster.

They played the best they could, I just feel ike the personnel put on the field wasn't the best we could offer. Versus ND, it was game 2 so I can't say that.

If we convert that 2 point conversion (why not give a run/pass option?) then I'd say it's a tie. I'd love to rewatch that OSU game, especially since I've never seen it on TV since I was there. However, I just can't. My heart sinks every single time. If it's on BTN, I'll watch the first 99 yard drive and that's it. We deserved that one, ugh. Still hurts.

The Safety Play might have been a significant difference if OSU needed more than one pass completion in the second half to score 21 points.

All things considered, Devin Gardner with a broken foot, the utter defensive collapse in the second half, I think a broken up 2pt conversion at the end of the game was the very least of Michigan's problems that day.

I've always said this about Michigan, whether football or basketball. I just want to see us execute and play the best we can on that day. If the other team is better...oh well, I can live with that.

This game, outside of the one bonehead play, we played out best in all 3 phases. Notice that I said that about the defense as well. We made ND work, and they made some plays offensively and made it a game...that's fine, I respect that. Just don't give them anything.

I could watch this game over and over, just because we execute...I'd much rather watch this game than say the IU game which was more exciting offensively, but it made you pull your hair out defensively. In this game when ND makes a play, you just say "okay, nice play...let's get back and go after it again on the next down."

as I watched that ill-fated spin move by Devin in the end zone.  But knowing we would eventually prevail and beat the chickens made it a little easier to watch

Otherwise, this has been a fun re-watch, as I tuned in to the replay in the last 5 minutes of the first half.  Had such high hopes for the season after that game, but instead that was THE high point of the season.

I agree this was the best game of the year by far.  Both Gallon and Gardner were excellent and the O-line held up.  If not for the Gardner end zone mistake this could have been a blowout.

Watching this actually gives me hope for this year.  Things could turn around a lot faster than you might expect.

of this game due to the dreaded fall Saturday wedding and bar hopping for my girlfriend's birthday.  Made sure we stayed in one spot for the last five minutes though, which was an excellent choice.

After this game I made my husband pinky swear we'd go to the Rose Bowl if UM made it. That's how awesome we felt after this game. It was a great game!
