Timmy won most improved? I feel like I didn't really notice any huge jump in his game this year. Still kind of inconsistent
Statistically he improved. Free throws, 3 point shooting and turnover margin all improved. I just feel like he's reached his peak n don't expect any change if he wr to come back next season
His ball handling could improve big time.
Which is an individual skill that is more likely to improve if he leaves for the NBA and can devote 100% of his time to his game, including a full summer league stint.
I think it might be in THJ's best interest to go pro. If he doesn't, though, I'll welcome him back with open arms. I would love to see a senior night featuring THJ.
I can easily see a scenario where Hardaway comes back, and we run the offense through him. I think Hardaway was unable to showcase his skills this year because Burke was so awesome, and the entire offense ran through him every play. Hardway could be that guy next year (obviously not like Burke was). With all the complimentary players around him, I can see his stock going way up as a huge part of the offense on a very good team.
I suppose you can make the case we could run the offense through Albrecht as a pure point guard or Walton could come in ready to be the focal point, but I like the idea of running the offense through Hardaway and give Albrecht and Walton a year of experience not having to be the primary focus.
Your second paragraph is the best reason I've seen to support the idea that Hardaway might be able to improve with a fourth year. I'm on board.

disagree about THJ not being able to show his skills with Burke there. The great thing about Burke is that he made everyone around him better. Hardaway and others were able to showcase their skills, in large part because Burke put them in a position to be successful.
Actually his FT shooting was down a couple % points and he got to the line a lot less often. And while his total assists was up, his assist rate was actually down from 14.2% to 13.0% this year. That reflects a lot of other buckets for Stauskas/McGary/GR3 that were being created by Burke. Anyway, Hardaway pretty much had the same season as last year except that he shot 37% from 3 instead of 28%. All of the other differences in Hardaway's final line are pretty minor differences.
Yep. Hardaway was better than last year by a hair but the truth is that Burke was the most improved player. With 6 freshmen eligibles and 2 seniors who didn't play much that really only left Burke, Hardaway, Morgan and Horford. Morgan was injured and less effective when he did play this year. I can understand giving it to the less deserving Hardaway over Burke I guess just because Burke had already won every POY award on the planet. To me, even though his year was more of an injury comeback than an improvement, Horford would have been a worthy choice for that one because at least he played and contributed this year, unlike last year.
Any chance hardaway, mcgary, n GR3 announce whether or not their comin back?
I predict by late April, at the latest.
After his first meeting with each of them, Beilein thinks they'll all stay:

Things can change, though.
Beilein was referring to the fact that he doesn't think there will be attrition from anyone not considering the NBA.
Hmm, I listened again and you may be right. It sounds like the question is about extra attrition to other schools, which didn't even register the first time. Who would leave this?
Your avatar is an apt one.
No announcement. Great highlight video.
Does the school get a replica trophy of those Burke awards? Like in college football with the Heisman and some of the bigger awards. They had the football ones on display last year. I would love to see all those on display at the Crisler Center area where they have last years B1G trophy and the 89 NT trophy.
Not just a shooter award: Stauskas, N.
indeed. If I had a nickel for every time I heard an announcer say that...
From Missassagua, Canada
Except in the semifinal against Florida, when Jim Nantz decided to only say he was from Ontario, Canada. I don't think he knew how to pronounce the town name.
Didn't know Morgan was an IOE major.
Don't ya think?
My friend is an IOE and can barely read. Still has above a 3.5. They don't call it In and Out Easy for nothing
LOL I used to live with a bunch of engineers as the lone History major.
"No words, just numbers". These guys were functionally retarded when it came to the english language but goddamn looking at some of the stuff they did made my head spin.

I've only ever heard "Instead Of Engineering"

I don't think it's accurate...but I've heard IOEasy.
Any Michigan function where Josh Groban is not played, is a definite success.
Disagree. I thought it was beautiful and touching.
Does "Most Improved" mean from the beginning of this season to the end or from last year to this year?
From the beginning of the season

Then I think McGary should have gotten it.

Lol, I clicked that and some doofus actually told Spike "Final four watches are great but you have bigger fish to fry, big ten championship banner" etc.
Big ten championship is not valued more than a Final Four appearance. Ever.

I think a part of the Hardaway Most Improved Award was earned by his attitude. There was no head hanging and no losing his guy on defense after a bad offensive sequence. He stepped up and with Trey, helped fill the leadership void left by Stu and Novak's graduation.

That's crazy.
I dig the Jean-Claude-double-kick-dunk-between-the-legs trophy
