2013 5-Star CB to visit

Just passing along some enjoyable information-Kendall Fuller will visit Ann Arbor soon.  He is quite the specimen at a position of need and it'll be nice to get him affiliated with our program so early.

Here's his profile-You have to appreciate the player Fuller reminds Rivals of......

We are also after Dorian O'Daniel (2013 LB) out of good counsel who seems to be pretty high on us

Tremendous talked to both Fuller and O'Daniel, neither of whom said they talked to the staff when they were in school. However, the staff regularly visits top schools in order to establish closer relationships with the coaches, get tape of new prospects, or they could have been there to talk to other prospects like top '14 OL Sam Madaras. So, they weren't talking to Fuller or O'Daniel. But to assume that it means they were there for Diggs would be...misguided.

Well the coaches most likely didn't talk to them because I don't think they are allowed to visit the 2013 kids in school yet. I may be wrong on this as I think I remeber a Tremendous interview with a 2013 guy and the coaches can only talk to admin and hs coaches to ask for tape and talk about grades and stuff. Again not sure on the rules here but I think our staff didn't talk to them because they couldn't, but I'm sure they asked about them.

By 'talk' I meant 'see'. The coaches would still likely have let the players know if the Michigan staff had been in to see them practice, get film, etc. Any contact b/w the staff and '13 prospects is, legally speaking, supposed to be initiated by the prospect.

Shaq is easily one of my favorite recruits, but you can't get too attached to players. Fuller is one of the best in this class. It'll be interesting to see who the coaches pursue the hardest.

No, that was just for dramatic effect. I haven't seen anyone in high school who plays the ball better than he does. Not Fuller, Wright, or Reeves (Or, for a player that has already panned out, Dre Kirkpatrick). Not even close from what I've seen from their tapes availible on Youtube. He also plays ball carriers quite a bit better than Fuller does on film. I think he's a guy you can leave out on an island, and you can't be more valuable than that as a CB. If he enables us to send Odjemudia and Ryan off the edge without reservation, then that would make the difference on a lot of drives. Fuller may be a great prospect too, but I think Shaquille is ready right now.

Took my boys (6 and 8) to see several of his games this past year.  The kid can play!

And, don't worry, while I wear a Michigan hat everywhere as standard non-work attire, I never would approach the kid or try to talk to him or recruit him or any of that nonsense... just wanted to take my boys to see good high school football.

If he goes Blue, we'll be getting a great player.

I saw Fuller when I went to Good Counsel to scout (I'm using the term very loosely) Stefon Diggs earlier this year. Ace posted a roundup here. These are my thoughts on Fuller from the game:

Kendall Fuller [2013 four-star cornerback]—Fuller was the most impressive defensive player on the field Friday night. I don't think that reflects poorly on Diggs, mostly because St. John's QB (he's going somewhere for college...I couldn't find it in a quick search...)* stayed away from Diggs' side. Fuller made plays all night, displayed great coverage, had (by my count) 3 pass breakups, several tackles, and even contributed in stuffing the run game toward the line of scrimmage (before St. John's abandoned it). St. John's was a solid team coming into the game and Good Counsel only gave up seven, shutting them out after the first quarter.

I don't really know how to scout the technical aspects of high schoolers but apparently 5-star cornerbacks can even be spotted by people like me.

Dude is sick.

I think Rivals has him as #37 in the country. They usually have around 30 5* players in each class, and he's one of those guys who has a good chance of moving up. If he's ranked in the top 50 on Scout he's automatically a 5*.
