2013 5-star CB Priest Willis Shows Interest

Submitted by RakeFight on

Maybe nothing, but 5-star, top 5 CB Priest Willis told Shane Morris today that Michigan was in his top list, and asked what the scholarship picture was looking like.

Given all the hype around Green and Treadwell, and the fact that I don't believe Willis has ever been on record as being all that interested in Michigan, he has not been "on the radar," and I thought this might make for interesting discussion.  Is there a spot for him in this class?

@S_Morris12 how long do you think that last Michigan spot is going to be open ? There in my top

Not sure what the technical date is for "super early".

Also, not sure I follow the logic that one kid can pick Michigan, shut down the recruiting / decision process, actively lobby for other players to join him in the class, etc;  while another kid has a list of 3 to 15 schools, actively visits other campuses months and months later....and nothing can be deduced about their comparative desire to be at Michigan?

The kid that drags his process out til the last second may end up wanting to be here just as much as anyone else who committed before him, but if he's sitting there watching spots get taken up, and has an offer and doesn't act, I'll be the one out on the limb saying he isn't sold on Michigan yet.

Hate to break your bubble but these kids are not trying to please you. They are deciding which path is best for THEM to take. I don’t fault a kid for taking his time with this decision. Especially, if it doesn’t go over the top, and make a total game out of it. (ie; just for the headlines or the notoriety)

Nothing Treadwell, Green, or LM3 has done has been outlandish or anything beyond a thoughtful decision making process to figure out what is best for them. (Didn’t you do the same when you were deciding which school to attend, I did. Racked my brain for many days deciding between schools and programs.) In truth, I’d rather they waited to commit, be sure, and stick, rather than do so earlier and later decide to de-commit. It doesn’t mean they like MI less.

Nice bit of promise, but I kind of doubt this is anything more than a couple of highly-rated recruits talking.  If Willis honestly gives UM a hard look, then that would be huge.
