2012 Student Football Ticket Price Set

Athletics released the price for student football tickets today: $195 for tickets, $10 service charge, and $10 for the T-shirt, if you want one. If memory serves, this is the exact same price as the 2010 tickets were. Tickets go on sale this Wednesday through April 4.

I'd love to be wrong, but I checked this at least five times during class to make sure I was reading correctly. Checks out to about $35 a game if you buy everything I listed, which was last season's price.

Although admittedly, I am thinking about trying to get someone to buy tickets on my behalf, since my ID is still good through 2015.

Due to the crappy home slate though, I'm actually more thinking of getting someone to buy me tickets to the Alabama game. $50 is a great price and the seats are good too. Either that or ND and/or Ohio would be pretty good pick-ups to (or maybe even Nebraska, as I hear Nebraska fans are pretty hospitable and it's a fun trip to go on).

Read the fine print. For the Alabama game only, the student ticket will be picked up IN DALLAS. And as to where the tickets for this game will be, they'll be similar to the sugar bowl location. Behind the end zone in the lower bowl.

Seconded. I was trying to help my friend get tickets for the TSIO game this past fall, so I asked a friend (who is a student) to check it out. She went on Facebook, and had a ticket within the afternoon.

If you're doing nothing, how do you know when you're finished?

Yes, they reserve tickets for freshmen. Tickets never "sell out" for students. There's only a deadline. As long as you get tickets by the deadline (which is different for incoming freshmen), you will get tickets. They will have awful priority and thus be seated up in the top of the bowl, but will get tickets. They CANNOT get away tickest through the ticket office I believe though.

student tix are still rockbottom cheap compared to the regular tix.  plus, the student tix get better as u get more credits under your belt, so some lucky seniors are getting some pretty sweet tix (with lots of potential resale value).

They're actually only about half off. My full price season tix last year were 480 for 8 games and I'm expecting closer to 400 this year for only 6 games. The prices aren't out yet, though (if it's 480 for 6 games with only one marquee home game, I wil be pissed).

Because I have activated the account with my information.

Duke was 2, played on the road.

Florida State was 3, played on the road.

If they went by the standing they used for the BTT, we'd be second in the B1G. I would guess we get North Carolina at home. You never know though.

Anyone know how much they decreased the size of the student section for this year?

If I remember correctly, they were going to decrease the size due to students not showing up to games(and likely so they could sell more full price tix). If an increase in student ticket prices causes more people to show up for games(or force them to sell their ticket to someone who will actually use it) then this could be a positive consequence.
