Correct Kenny Powers.

They're. All hail the grammar nazi

It's the only Michigan football action we get over a 7 month span. We get to see many guys playing that we don't get to see much or haven't seen before. Remember Jake Ryan's coming out party during last year's spring game?
That's not boring to me.

Or Denard in 2010
December 2nd, 2011 at 9:43 PM ^
I love the spring game, and you nailed the reasons, sir.
December 2nd, 2011 at 11:07 PM ^
Or Carvin Johnson...
December 2nd, 2011 at 5:57 PM ^
How do they determine who wears the home jersey vs the away jersey?
December 2nd, 2011 at 6:01 PM ^
That's how. It's nearly as exciting as the game itself.
December 2nd, 2011 at 5:58 PM ^
It's April 14th
December 2nd, 2011 at 6:03 PM ^
same day as the la crosse game? We better pack the stands!
December 2nd, 2011 at 6:56 PM ^
...I said to the people I was with, "So we're doing what Ohio State has done -- LAX game paired with the spring game. Makes for quite a show!"

A person decides to post a link to an article and doesn't even bother to post the most relevant information which can already be found by anyone looking at this page.
Classic.
December 2nd, 2011 at 6:27 PM ^
Didn't realize it was such a big deal. I changed it. U mad?
December 2nd, 2011 at 6:34 PM ^
Not at all, but my point stands even with your alteration.
Your linked article is already linked by Brian on a m.go.lic.ious sidebar. Without any analysis (which as of the time I'm posting this, you have none other than your emotional state about a scrimmage), your post is redundant and the mods should take it down.
GO BLUE!

I don't see you mentioning this on the Carl Pelini post....or the Charlie Baggett post? Those links, while useful, never generate any discussion in the comments. Is the spring game not worth mentioning or possibly discussing, especially when the board is littered with hypotheticals about ten year old quarterbacks and As Brionte's World Turns?

and I missed the other link. Thanks for posting it. Not everybody can lurk 24/7.
December 2nd, 2011 at 6:32 PM ^
Same day as the lacrosse game, oui?

Ouais!

The release of the date of the Spring Game in 2008 was big time news for us.
Now, in 2011, it's being overshadowed by a possible BCS berth.
The times they are a changin'.

I assume only the early enrollees of the 2012 class will be there. I expect Dunn to have a 5.0+ YPC.

I got an email saying the Big House Big Heart races were moved to the day after the spring game instead of being in the fall. I think this is to try and get people to make a weekend of it. I'm kind of bummed, I liked running through Ann Arbor in the fall.

Although the Michigan defense struggled against Ohio, I really like what Mattison is doing and think they match up well against our offense. However, the Michigan defense hasn't quite faced an opponent on Denard's level. I think Michigan is going to beat Michigan but it'll be a low scoring affair.
December 2nd, 2011 at 10:23 PM ^
Prediction: offense scores touchdowns, defense wins game.
December 2nd, 2011 at 8:07 PM ^
So does this set the date of the big house open house and athletic department annual sale?
December 2nd, 2011 at 8:35 PM ^
Will it be an actual game? I want to see an actual Maize-Blue GAME.
December 2nd, 2011 at 8:43 PM ^
Probably not still, based on numbers. Once we go a year without so much attrition, then we'll have a real game. The next spring (2013) should be good, especially if we have a handful of EEs in the 2013 class.
Although, we might have the number to this year, especially since we have more walk-ons contributing than usual. The lines are the spots that will be tough to field two line-ups.

will be a sell out (I hope). Lets get another Michigan NCAA World record.
December 2nd, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
What will the cost of the LAX game be? Does anybody know what time it will start?
December 2nd, 2011 at 9:02 PM ^
Win - win for football and lacrosse. To my knowledge the spring game has never come close to filling the Big House right? So if the lacrosse game brings a few thousand more fans, that's a bonus for football that day. I know they've had as many as 5,000 at club team games against State, so 10,000 for a varsity game against Ohio is not out of the question. Of course, if all of the people there to see the spring game also watch the lacrosse game, they'll have a good shot at setting a record.
So do they play Ohio in Columbus the following season before their spring game? If so, this could be the start of a great new tradition.

I am taking my three year old son to his first "Go Blue" game. I hope they continue to allow the open facility the morning of the game. He has been wanting to go for 2 seasons now, so it will be my trial run with him. He asks several times a week when we are going! I can't wait.
December 2nd, 2011 at 11:20 PM ^
They don't lose that much. Hemingway and Molk. Big pieces, but not the lynchpins. Defense will be trying to find their way without Martin and RVB. Unless Campbell blows up (IhopeIhopeIhope) the spring game will be a high scoring affair.
