2012 Michigan recruits anonymous thoughts on recruiting ($)

Submitted by Drill on

Amusing article ($) from TomVH where he gets 2012 recruits anonymous opinions on the recruiting process and their knowledge about Michigan:

http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/colleges/michigan/post/_/id/873/recruit…

The most hilarious one:

Other than Michigan where did you have the best visit experience?

One person said: "Michigan State was the worst"

Also, the "weirdest things heard throughout recruitment" is pretty funny.

Thanks for linking a paywalled article where I can't see anything expect the content you've copied and pasted. Tremendous thread.

You all complaining about the paywall need to quit bitching...there are a lot of posters on MGoBlog that have access on ESPN.com due to TomVH's still very good info.

And those whining about money. I see a thread on this board EVERY week about getting a YEAR subscription to ESPN.com for $4, $10, $12 or whatever special someone found.

Seriously $4 for a YEAR? I paid $12 for mine...I could spare the $1 a month, especially when mine comes with 32 issues of the Magazine that I rarely read but enjoy leaving in the bathroom for when I need to handle business.

....all walls fall, even paywalls. Of course, man must first overcome the need to acquire wealth.

I could afford to become a member, but being the frugal bastard that I am, I'll wait until there's some free information, thanks.

POSTSCRIPT: My otherwise grinchy heart grew 3 sizes for TomVH during this corporate presentation I am in and I am setting up my subscription now.

that article seems really really interesting. I ordered my ESPN subscription about a month ago and haven't gotten anything yet, so it's kinda pissing me off since I want to see this one.

The same thing happened to me as well.  However, I somehow found a way to activate my insider before my first mag came.  If I remember correctly, I went to ESPN Insider's site, tried to activate my account, they just asked for my info, figured out I was a subscriber, and gave me access.  Worth a shot.

Thanks for nothing.  If I am a subscriber, I have already seen the article and this is a waste of a link for me.  If I am not, then this is even a bigger waste of a link since it gets me nowhere.  Thanks again.

Seriously....trying to direct a little traffic/business for Tom is ok in my book considering we all benefited off hit free content and hard work for his entire time here.

Some people should sit back and ask themselves "what the hell do I contribute here" other then looking for the first opportunity to bash someone for posting something.  This blog has gotten a "country club" atmosphere by a few goobers that hang on this site 24/7.

He does have a "$" in the title.  Lay off of him, he is just relaying an article about Michigan that he enjoyed.  Unless I'm mistaken, linking to paywalled articles is not against board policy.

WolverineNation...it is WELL worth it. Tom is obviously awesome but their articles are sometimes a tad fluffy. The weekly update makes it worth it for me. Plus I have a crush on Chantal Jennings ;)

i figure this is far enough down in the comments now that it's ok to share one of the questions and answers (hopefully not crossing any imaginary lines):

Can you name all three of Michigan’s Heisman trophy winners?

Yes – 1

No – 14

Everyone got two of them, only one knew Tom Harmon. One tried to Google it, but I heard the keyboard typing and caught him.

tom vh is still on top of his game.

...and setting it up as I type. The reactions of recruits to Red Cedar Apartment Complex has to be classic, and far more entertaining than a presentation on regulatory relationships. Is it normal to have checked this far out at 11:30 AM on your last scheduled day of work for the year?

As great as Tom is, and he's the best insider in my mind, by far. But, by and large, Wolverine Nation, and ESPN insider as a whole, really sucks. I have a subscription, just out of my loyalty and respect to Tom. Other than that, it's been a utter disappointment.

I don't have enough points to start a new thread, but thought some might be able to benefit from thi.

For current ESPN the Magazine subscribers, use this link to extend your subscription a year for $1. Can't beat that and apparently you can log in daily to extend it. TomVH news until 2042 for only $30? Where do I sign?
