I totally agree. Almost all of my M shirts say "MICHIGAN" and very little else. That one word says it all.
2012 Football t-shirt design
Is there any coincidence that the shirts have sucked since Adidas took over?
Most of them have been either designed by the athletic department, or been some sort of contests by students.
it, better than last years.
I like it. It's a good year for no home schedule on the back, because our home schedule is terrible anyways.
I know it's possible to patent colors, as a few major US companies have patented their trademark color...
...did Michigan forget to patent Maize or something? After the basketball jerseys and now this t-shirt, I feel like the athletic department is hiding something. Is someone out there holding Maize hostage for an enormous sum of money? Or is there a clandestine cabal of conspirators collaborating to control colors? Or is Michigan slowly phasing out Maize as the school color? I don't think "Highlighter Yellow #243 and Blue" sounds quite as good as "Maize and Blue" but that's just my opinion.
on here once that Nike actually owns that certain shade of maize-43 or something like that.
I really enjoy having a schedule, but living in Hawkeye territory, nothing like showing off M accomplishments.
Is that maize or bright yellow?
The back reminds me a lot of the '06 student shirts.
11-1 and a trip to the rose bowl? I'd take it!
I won't take it
Ha. Which reminds me of the 2003 shirts.
The new one is way better
I swear they've take about ten minutes to design every shirt since 2008.
They've been completely uninspired since Adidas wrested the design away from the old student contests. There were some really amazing designs put together, and I always thought it was cool that a student, not some shoe company graphic designer, was the one doing the work.
But, hey, dollars.
All the numbers on the back will be outdated after the season.
The design's kind of weird, but I greatly prefer having the accomplishments over the schedule.
At least it doesn't start on the back with, "I pledge..."
That's half the damn battle there.
Reminds me a lot of the 06-07 shirts (my freshman year) which has been my favorite shirt by far. I think I'll actually have to buy this years shirt for the first time in about 5 years
I personally like the brightness. I mean Maize is an arrogant shade of yellow. ; ) I love our tradition and our jerseys but I really wouldnt mind seeing more Maize like that on the away jersey stripes. That is just my opinion. I like alterior jerseys too. I would not be opposed to seeing the throwbacks three times a year on the regular. I would also like to see a Maize and blue jersey with Maize being the base color. JMI. Go Blue! Love the team 133 too btw.
you shut your whore mouth
With all due respect to the creators isn't team 133 reserved for the players? They're team 133 not us. In general, not loving it.
Looks good. It would be nice to include the schedule, but I like that they replaced it with something substantive that highlights the program's unique accomplishments.
Sweet shirt! Minus the schedule its pretty damn good in my opinion.
With all due respect I think the shirts this year are light years better than last years. I liked the message, but they just looked horrible.
23 undefeated seasons is impressive too, as is most winning seasons, and highest %, and winning record against every conference.
Way too busy and wrong color. Adidas hasnt really wooed me yet.
I really like the design a lot, not sure why everyone doesn't like it. If you want a shirt with an M and Team 133 on it, you can buy that at about 100,000 different places, this is unique and I prefer it to something simple. You can always go get a custom shirt that says Team 133 with a block M or anything with a schedule on the back.
Shall i say it again? Adidas you have ruined our maize and i hate you for it. The design is eh. I knew team 1xx would be on every shirt from here on out. I love nomenclature as much as the next dude but this shirt sucks. Gotta keep the schedule on there. I like lining them up by year in the closet fergodsakes.
on the back of the tee
I wish we had Nike so bad, because as much as I hate to say it MSU's student shirts are always way better than ours. Simple design, better material that doesnt fade halfway through the season, and it comes in both mens and womens fits. Am I the only one?
And on top of that, my friend tells me that every year they have three different versions designed and the students get to vote for which one during the month of June. It would be pretty cool if adidas would do that so we get a say in how it looks.
There is no possible way to make green and white look cooler than maize and blue.
How is that shirt anything special? It looks like the JC Penney's generic shirt. It's just the logo and the name.
I like them, a lot. I also like going without the schedule on the back. If I want to remember a season's schedule I'm going to use the google machine, not rummage through my clothes to look at a shirt.
I also like Adidas and don't think they deserve all of their hate. Sure the maize has gotten brighter, but it brighter and flashier is just the theme of sports these days. Also, the bright looks way better on TV. Maybe I'm just biased becuase Adidas shirts fit me the best out of any brand.
Better than last year, but the schedule should be on the back. And maybe the helmet on the front.
I usually like the shirts but this one sucks! Not even going to buy it just not a fan.
So much better than last year--the huge graphic in front--cheap letters--looked atrocious.
Reminds me very much of '06, which I loved. Definitely the best out of the adidas offerings so far.
I'm also a fan of no schedule--as I pretty much burned my '07 shirt affter "the horror" and still cringe whenever I see anyone wearing it.
Front should have the block M and Team 133
Back should state "This is Michigan"
Nothing else needed. Having 2012 AND Team 133 on the shirt, along with Michigan AND a block M is redundant.
I dunno about y'all, but I love the huge list of bragging rights on the back. Gonna be amazing to wear when I visit my parents in Ohio!
