a Michigan fan as there is. I generally buy Michigan gear like there's no tomorrow, but I've never bought the yearly shirt. They're too busy, too ugly.

I know it's possible to patent colors, as a few major US companies have patented their trademark color...

...did Michigan forget to patent Maize or something?  After the basketball jerseys and now this t-shirt, I feel like the athletic department is hiding something.  Is someone out there holding Maize hostage for an enormous sum of money?  Or is there a clandestine cabal of conspirators collaborating to control colors?  Or is Michigan slowly phasing out Maize as the school color?  I don't think "Highlighter Yellow #243 and Blue" sounds quite as good as "Maize and Blue" but that's just my opinion.

They've been completely uninspired since Adidas wrested the design away from the old student contests.  There were some really amazing designs put together, and I always thought it was cool that a student, not some shoe company graphic designer, was the one doing the work.

But, hey, dollars.

At least it doesn't start on the back with, "I pledge..."

That's half the damn battle there.

Reminds me a lot of the 06-07 shirts (my freshman year) which has been my favorite shirt by far. I think I'll actually have to buy this years shirt for the first time in about 5 years

I personally like the brightness. I mean Maize is an arrogant shade of yellow. ; ) I love our tradition and our jerseys but I really wouldnt mind seeing more Maize like that on the away jersey stripes. That is just my opinion. I like alterior jerseys too. I would not be opposed to seeing the throwbacks three times a year on the regular. I would also like to see a Maize and blue jersey with Maize being the base color. JMI. Go Blue! Love the team 133 too btw.

Looks good. It would be nice to include the schedule, but I like that they replaced it with something substantive that highlights the program's unique accomplishments.

With all due respect I think the shirts this year are light years better than last years. I liked the message, but they just looked horrible.

I really like the design a lot, not sure why everyone doesn't like it. If you want a shirt with an M and Team 133 on it, you can buy that at about 100,000 different places, this is unique and I prefer it to something simple. You can always go get a custom shirt that says Team 133 with a block M or anything with a schedule on the back.

Shall i say it again? Adidas you have ruined our maize and i hate you for it. The design is eh. I knew team 1xx would be on every shirt from here on out. I love nomenclature as much as the next dude but this shirt sucks. Gotta keep the schedule on there. I like lining them up by year in the closet fergodsakes.

Plus Adidas hats suck.  I feel like I look like a tool in every one of them.  Something about the way they sit on your head.  I have a 13 year old Nike hat that still looks better on me than any of the three Adidas hats I own of recent vintage.

I wish we had Nike so bad, because as much as I hate to say it MSU's student shirts are always way better than ours. Simple design, better material that doesnt fade halfway through the season, and it comes in both mens and womens fits. Am I the only one?

And on top of that, my friend tells me that every year they have three different versions designed and the students get to vote for which one during the month of June. It would be pretty cool if adidas would do that so we get a say in how it looks.

I like them, a lot. I also like going without the schedule on the back. If I want to remember a season's schedule I'm going to use the google machine, not rummage through my clothes to look at a shirt.

I also like Adidas and don't think they deserve all of their hate. Sure the maize has gotten brighter, but it brighter and flashier is just the theme of sports these days. Also, the bright looks way better on TV. Maybe I'm just biased becuase Adidas shirts fit me the best out of any brand.

I love the concept of pride but seriously where is the schedule?! I thought the student season t's were suppose to have the season schedule on the back?

So much better than last year--the huge graphic in front--cheap letters--looked atrocious.

Reminds me very much of '06, which I loved.  Definitely the best out of the adidas offerings so far.

Front should have the block M and Team 133

Back should state "This is Michigan"

Nothing else needed.  Having 2012 AND Team 133 on the shirt, along with Michigan AND a block M is redundant.
