2012 CFN Preseason Offensive All-Americans

Submitted by Jmilan on

Per MGoVoice (he doesn't have enough points to post), CFN has released their 2012 Preseason All-Americans for Offense. Denard Robinson is the 1st quarterback listed along with some other B1G players. http://cfn.scout.com/2/1193883.html

Although I do think Barkley should probably be number one, if Denard can consistently play like he did at the end of the season last year (against Ohio and Nebraska), we are going to see something truly special.

I just have this feeling that Barkley really doesn't care if he is an 1st team All-American or not. He knows that as long as his season doesn't take a nose dive and he doesn't get injured that he will most likely be the first quarterback taken in next years draft. I think Denard's stats could be better due to the ability he has with his feet, just think if Denard wound up having a monster year and had somewhere around 3500-4000 yards of total offense. That may be being overconfident in his ability, but if Michigan has another big season like last year I think you could at least argue Denard over Barkley for the award.

Barkley will have the stats that voters look for.  He is a rocket-armed, pocket passer in a system designed for his skill set.  He has the best recievers money (and the promise of a career in rap after football) can buy, and plenty of big horses up front to block for him.

Denard will be the most valuable player, but Barkley will be the most decorated player.  Luckily, Denard doesn't care about individual awards and accomplishments.

Couldnt resist taking a shot at the recievers, huh? Just had to stereotype the recievers as interested in rap, instead of playing at USC or something?

It will be interesting to see where the other services put Denard.  As for Lewan, would not be surprised to see him on the 1st team when the season ends.

Agreed. Denard is my favorite Wolverine since Woodson, but Barkley is the clear cut 1st teamer. Even my own homerism can't cloud that easy of a judgment call

Lewan and Nard should swap teams - Lewan 1st, Nard 2nd.

And, despite his recent legal issues, it sure would have been nice to close the deal on Sammy Watkins. He'd look good donning the winged helmet and streaking down the field in Michigan Stadium. Kid is electric.

I'll say that Fitz could turn some heads this year and make a postseason list or two. On the defensive side of the ball, I could see Jake Ryan or Blake Countess making some noise before all is said and done.

Anyone else want to take a shot and pick some of our players who could be moving up in the world?
