2011 football bold predictions

Submitted by vaneasy2338 on

Ok guys this is a thread I have wanted to start after NSD (and before spring ball just to make some of us look stupid). Lets do a bold predictions thread for the upcoming season. Just to add some format, how about we do one bold prediction about the offense, one bold prediction about the defense, and one bold prediction about for the upcoming freshman class. I'll start with mine

1. Offense- Fitzgerald Toussaint and Stephen Hopkins will run for a combined 1500 yards.

2. Defense- The defense will be ranked somewhere between 50 and 60 in yards per game.

3. Freshman class- Chris Barnett make the biggest impact outside of anyone on special teams next season (not the boldest prediction, I know).

Offense: Denard Passes for 3000 and rushes for 1000

Defense: Mattison

Freshmen Class: Thomas Rawls pulls a gun on every defense he faces and murders Lawrence Thomas

It's going to be a predictably looooooooooooooong offseason, full of predictable threads predicting who'll be the most predictable in their predictions.

I predict you are correct. I also predict that there will be 20 would you rather beat MSU, ND, and OSU and lose the rest of the games or go 9-3 and lose to those teams threads.

Offence: Chris Barnett becomes Denard's top redzone target and gets at least 5 TD's.

Defence: Secondary is moderately competent. Not great, but competent.

Freshman: Wile makes 75% of his FG attempts.

I don't know but I don't see barnett jumping over koger to be a top target. I think he will be great eventually but kogar can have a huge year in this new offense. Koger will be the biggest new impact to this offense in my opinion.

1. Offense - we run an air raid offense after Leach is hired as an OC (yes Borges is fired after spring ball)
2. Defense - Mike Martin ends up our starting SS and is all conference
3. Freshman - Bellomy is our leading rusher and passer.

Offense: New scheme resurrects Kevin Koger and Brandon Moore also emerges. They combine for 55 catches, 700 yards and 10+ tds. Chris Barnett will also record a touchdown

Defense: Most chicks named Mallory are hot, therefore I predict that our new secondary coach and Mattison re-vamp our secondary by allowing them to not play 15 yards off the line of scrimmage. JT Floyd and T-Wolf both have strong years coming off injury.

Freshman Class: Blake Countess records two INTs

Offense: Mike Cox will be our leading rusher at the end of the season.

Defense: We average 24ppg, which was middle of the pack this year.

Freshman: No freshman start unless they are forced into it by injuries.

Don't know which prediction is wrong, but I don't think all three can br right. If the offense and defense predictions are right, then we'll have more than 8 wins, if the 8 wins are correct, then one of the first two is wrong. The last prediction stands on it's own, and looks good!

Offense: Stephen Hopkins emerges as our leading rusher with just over 1200 yards, while Denard becomes a much more efficient passer having only 3 INTs.

Defense: Prison Abs becomes the clear choice starter at SS, and RVB notches 8 sacks.

Freshmen: Kellen Jones does not redshirt and works his way into a starting role by bowl time.

Fresmen - Barnett redshirts with Koger,Moore and Miller in front of him. Countess grabs the starting job opposite Woolfolk. Rawls also redshirts to acclimate himself to the academic grind at UM but Hayes contributes as a 3rd down back.

Offense - Cox to FB, Hopkins gets the most carries. We run more 3 WR than 2 TE or TE/FB and Roundtree,Hemingway and Stonum all have big years. Grady to DB,Watson possibly to TE.

Defense - Ryan and C.Gordon combine with Demmens to make LB a strength. Carvin takes the SS job from Kovacs and Washington takes the NT job on run downs, Martin and RVB inside on pass downs with Ash rotating in, maybe BWC too.

But it's still the modern era. It's not like I went to the 1947 team and pulled up

48 Weisenburger, Jack FB 1947 v Sr. 6-1 176 Muskegon Heights MI

or the 1900 team and found

Sweeley, Everett M. FB 1900 v _ 6-0 170 Sioux City IA _

Dang. Lytle was really small.
