I think I can spare a dollar when I go to Vegas in August for a fun and extremely hopeful bet on Tate. I'll take a $3,499 profit

EDIT: or $349, I'm a little hazy on that kind of betting

I keep thinking that the last three Heisman winners were Sophomores, and see visions of Tate or Denard holding a certain iconic trophy in Manhattan come December. I know it's fairly nuts, but the off-season is long.

all of our intel shows a legit quarterback battle leading into camp, while Vegas has Forcier a longshot to be the cover boy of the entire sport.

Someone's wrong.  Which is it?

Odds are usually made to entice people to bet, not to be an accurate representation of potential to win necessarily. Most people that will be betting probably don't know a whole lot about our QB race.

unless they saw our Spring game, how would they know how much Denard's passing has improved?    I love to watch the tape of the Spring game......once a team knows Denard can throw, and honors the pass threat, the field opens up for a dilithium burst.

we havent seen all denard can do, spring game was great but we have to remember that the defense was dropping back into cover 2 every time. no blitz or complex coverages incase someone else was watching. last year his arm was fine, it was reading coverages that was the problem. were going to have to wait a few months to see whats really going on with our QB competition.

I like Tate but if he wins the starting job this year I feel like his ceiling for greatness isn't as high as Denard's.  Tate's a solid qb and maybe in the majority of scenarios he wins more games starting for us this year than Denard but Denard has the electrifying speed and athleticism to have the kind of season where he could win a Heisman.  I feel like Vegas knows this and also knows that there is a qb battle going on so they put odds up on Tate and hope to get bets on the qb with less Heisman potential who might not even win the starting job.  I'd much rather wait until a line for Denard eventually comes out

Drew Henson also had a bigger upside at QB then Tom Bradey did, when they were both playing at UofM.  I am not saying I don't agree with you about Denard vs. Tate.  But, I am just saying.......sometimes something obvious and clear cut now, turns out differently in the future.....

(in thick NY accent.)  I am just saying, hey now you know.  Ok batta-boom, peace out, I am otta here........

I generally don't comment on spelling/grammar stuff, but c'mon... the "e" key isn't anywhere close to the "o" key. Is it really so hard to correctly spell the name of the best player on our only National Championship team in the last 60 years? It's only two syllables.

Thinking you know more than Vegas is a consistant losing bet.  What you outlined basically means that any bet on either of your Qb's is a losing bet.   Both could be great players but unless you take 99% of the snaps at Qb, you aren't even going to NYC.  They could put them both at +5000 and it wouldn't matter, any dollar bet on a split QB to win the HT, is a suckers bet.
